Leliana feels sad nao...

Anyway, I only had one playthrough with Vanilla Leli. Afterwards, I discovered a few mods that made the game somewhat better.

Bregan's Bow. It's an exclusive DLC that you get when you pre-ordered Dragon Age at gamestop.de or game.co.uk. My bro ordered his version there, but never did something with this DLC. 
I got it after I bought my own version.

If you are planning to make your PC an archer, then Bregan's Bow is a nice starter bow. I could post some stats if you want...

I have enough mods that I dont need DLC items.



Although Leliana, will always be an archer to me, I never max that tree and have her with some DW talents, and a maxed lock pick skill set, so my PCs can be pure fighters.

Nowadays I'm just the average dual-wielder and the lockpicker in the party. I used to play as a Warrior, but since I found out that being a dual-wielder gives you a wider variation of attacks... And the Rogue class compliments the dual-wielding skills the best (think of the Duelist and the Assassin specializations).

Yeah she is always an archer for me as well. I stack cunning on her get lethality and song of courage with all the archery talents and let her go to town, by the level 15 she is probably the best dps in the party except for the Warden. Its awesome getting three shatters from scattershot then follow up with an arrow of slaying on the yellow then a critical/stealth shot on whatever is left. She can clear a room pretty quickly .



As for mod vs vanilla; I think both are lovely, but I prefer the SA version that was my first encounter with her, and I prefer the darker red hair to the lighter orange. I think the the SA captures her roguish look better. Just my opinion though .

I prefer the more hairstyles version of the guy who created that. However, I sometimes use the one you're using.

Except my version does not look like that; the hair-thingy-like thing on the right side of her hair doesn't appear on Leliana for some reason... Quite a shame.

I dont mind him...
but he and Leliana are not really made for each other, no more than Alistair is, curse you DSC.

Anywho with her as my archer she is just a nasty little sniper, and making my run a cake walk.

They'd just reinforce negative aspects in each other, leading both down a self-destructive path. Zevran is Leliana when she was a Bard, he's accepted the life of an Assassin and disapproves any time someone suggests that killing for a living is not okay. They both need someone who isn't them, there in lies the fundamental problem since they are so similar. Besides the whole having a lot in common is only true if Leliana is hardened otherwise they have nothing in common, Zevran the unrepentent Assassin and Leliana the reformed Bard would be like oil and water. His life plan of being an assassin doesn't really mesh with her plans of not being an assassin.

My take is that Zev is less of an assassin at game's end and because of his time with the warden and with Leli sees the good in himself and in those around him.. I think he views life much differently than when he first met them (warden & Leli-- of course this would depend on how you played the game..)

Leliana has a lot more in common with a pineapple than with Zevran.

Unchanged she would say "Murder is wrong" and Zevran Disapproves -15, so there wouldn't even be a friendship (I don't think unchanged Leliana even likes Zevran). If she's changed it's just a negative behaviour feedback loop that gets worse and worse until it just explodes, Zevran would encourge the worst in her and she in turn would encourge the worst in him.

While I like Zevran, and laugh at alot of his lines....

Him and Leliana do not mix at all, to that effect I dont see her and Alistair getting along that well either.



More to the point, with her using her bow she is literally a medieval machine gun.

That may be true in your story....  but, in mine...  it's not - Leli and Zev use their skills to help people in need and do not meddle in petty politics any longer
