I think the joinging is much more biological then say a force of will thing.

Oghern barely felt it, mainly due to his imbimbing over the years.
Thats mainly why I left Avernus to do his stuff, no torture mind you but hopefully he gets something down the road. Since an induction that kills many recruits is dumb IMHO.

I am, and will always use the vanilla leliana.
However I may convert to the caramel version.

I believe that the key to surviving the Joining is not wearing gloves. It's that simple.

HAHA,

Now I am thinking of the brisk Ice Tea commercial twisted into the joinging.

Yeah but he's the exception to the rule.

Loghain doesn't deserve the right to be "the" exception.

Too bad he didn't broke his nose when he fell forwards. :(

You might get life out of that, but I think I'm gonna gain some life out of this:

Why is Anders's approval at Love!?

Oh dear Maker... :pinched::blink::sick:

Anyway, let us return to the main topic: Leliana.

Awakening is busted as hell, I'm surprised it can even run it's such a mess. That being said I wouldn't mind Sigrun doing something about that whole love thing if you catch my drift . . .

As for the future I'm sure this place will be dead soon, Origins is officially over on the 7th so we'll never see Leliana or The Warden ever again. They left to adventure and stuff and will never return to Ferelden or the Grey Wardens.

What? Where did you hear that??

Of course, it only makes sense that the adventures of Leliana and the Warden are going to end -- and the likelihood of the Warden playing the lead in any future Dragon Age game is also highly unlikely. Though BioWare promised that they would keep on making DLC for Dragon Age: Origins for the time being...

Chris Priestly wrote...

To clear a few things up.

No
new content for Dragon Age: Origins INCLUDES no new content for Dragon Age: Origins Awakening. Witch Hunt is the final new content for Dragon
Age: Origins.

I know this is not what a lot of you wanted to
hear, but I thought it better to let you all know so you can look
forward to Witch Hunt and DA2 without holding hope for more DA:O.

And
much is being said of "What about the promise of 2 years of DLC?" or
"You broke your promise" or similar. We made this promise while we were
finishing Dragon Age: Origins and were working on Dragon Age: Origins
Awakening and DLC. We did not expect DA2 to come together so well or so
quickly. We could have chosen to delay DA2 and continued to put out
DA:O DLC, but we know how awesome DA2is going to be. The decision was
made to continue making DLC all the way to Witch Hunt and then it would
end  as we ramped up for DA2. When we said "2 years of DLC" we said
that in good faith, but when something as excellent as Dragon Age 2
comes along, it changes plans for the better.

While I understand this upsets a few of you, you still get awesome DLC like Darkspawn Chronicles, Golems of Amgarrak, and
Witch Hunt, plus loads of excellent fan made  adventures through the
Dragon Age toolset  and then have a brand new  Dragon Age adventure to
look forward to with Dragon Age 2. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/smile.png[/smilie]

Well nothing new will get added regardless of how many times you replay the same stuff again and again. Though they could shut down the content servers for Origins when DA2 comes out, EA's done it before to force people to play the new game and make them unable to play the old one.

That's what they do with all the EA sports series, when the new one comes out they shut down the matchmaking and content servers for the old one so people can't play it anymore. Though the great fear is they'll start shutting down paid content servers so if you buy DLC you can't have it authenticated anymore and therefore can no longer play it dispite having paid money for it.

In our hearts and thoughts, Leli will always live on. Remember that when you play Dragon Age.

And even though you still have a lot of DA:O to play, I've seen it by now. I have had 5 playthroughs by now, and DA:O is gradually starting to bore me, though Leli never bores me.

I've got my "ways" to play DLC that aren't authenticated, though I shouldn't be talking about these "ways" on the forums.

Besides, I'll always carry something of DA:O with me: the soundtracks. That way, I can think back of those glorious days, when I had a Grey Warden, who I could modify to my likes, as a puppet instead of a horribly dressed bloke from around the corner with the most awkward name.

I love how Chris Priestly's explanation of no more DLC is basically "When we made that promise we didn't know we'd change our minds, so it's all good."

Ah well, my Warden and Leliana got to ride off into the sunset at the end of Awakenings so I'm more or less content.

Indeed, and I guess that a lot others will feel that way too. Though I do desire more adventure with my Warden and Leliana... It's way better than the ending of those who romanced Morrigan though... But I guess that'll be rectified soon enough.

Yet still, there's this one thing bothering me... Why do the others, that you can romance, give you gifts, while Leliana doesn't? Yeah, she sings, I know. But a gift from her would've been nice.

Anyhow, the Warden's tale ends with the Witch Hunt DLC. Now that the Morrigan fans have been made happy (though I have a bad feeling about the DLC), we can move on to the next Dragon Age game. But it won't be easy. I'll have to get used to new guys now. They made the characters very deep in DA:O, like Leliana was.

I cannot hide my opinion though. I think that it is too early to release Dragon Age 2. It seems like they didn't put any effort in it at all, that it'll be another failure like Awakening was (I was quite disappointed by Awakening)(or, at least, for the majority of the game). They should let Dragon Age: Origins have the lead role for the time being. And then, when it is 2012 or 2013, they should release Dragon Age 2.

I'm sure DA2 will be a big success. They've got streamlined combat so it's more accessible for those on consoles. They've got streamlined dialogue with a VA so people don't have to use their imagination and determine for themselves what their characters voice and mannerisms are like. And finally they have streamlined content, so it'll only be half the length of the first.

Yup, a big success.

Even though there will no longer be no new content, there is one thing everyone has: imagination. Instead of BioWare providing the direction and guidance, you are now free to imagine what happens with your Warden and Leli. You can write fanfic or just play out scenarios in your head. Anything is possible, and Thedas is only one continent on the planet after all.

Anyway, I think it's a good way to let the old characters fade away gracefully. I will miss Leli like anything, but I can play DA2 happy, knowing she's out there with my Wardens.

I hope Dragon Age 2 also has deep characters, like Leliana or Zevran.

But now that the old characters and their companions have gone to the background, it is time to let go. Yeah sure, I'll miss them. Okay, only some of them. But I will miss Leliana the most of all, a lot in fact. But knowing that my Warden and Leliana will be together after Awakening keeps... my heart content.

I can only hope that Dragon Age 2 won't be filled with bugs as much as Origins was. Same for the so-called "memory leaks". I also hope that Dragon Age 2 has exciting quests, like The Urn of Sacred Ashes quest.
