Yeah about that, what kind of prizes are given in the other threads? I've seen Payroo give out commissions for the winners in the Zev thread, but we have no drawing people in here (although I did like wicked's drawing of Leli!). Isn't the Nate prompt done without prizes?



And I'm working on the banner! I have till monday, right?

Monday at 1200 PM Central time yes.

Some prizes are short stories done by commison, you could also do a photo manip as well.

I've got a couple of sketches here and here that are indicative of the drawings I can do. I don't know if that's really prize worthy, but I'm happy to do commision if its needed to get the contest up and running.

For the first image: I can't view it, since I don't have a deviantART account. Not that I will ever get one... I wouldn't do anything with it.
For the second image: I think it's a awesome picture. I can't draw like that and I probably never will.

Now, back to some other topics...

Secondly, if you were going to give Leliana a ring with a certain stone, what would that stone be? A amethyst? Or a ruby? Or perhaps a diamond? What would suit Leliana the best and what would match her likes the most?

Thanks. Both those took way longer than an hour though so my entries to the actual contest will probably be lame in comparison.  But, I promise I will take my time and "hit 'em with the good stuff" for the priiiize, if it comes to that.

Another question about how prompts work. What's the whole "1 hour time limit" thing? A whole hour in which entries can be submitted? Or we only have one hour to create whatever we'll do?

I took it to mean we have a one hour time limit in which to create our entry.

You have a one hour time limit, so the best writers, and artists are limited enough to not wipe out amatuers.
There is a whole week to submit them though, and the winner is called before the next prompt.

We should start signing up though for who is going to give out the prizes and who will be the ones prompting.

Hmmmm... I can imagine Leliana walking with that... A fine choice.

I'd probably give her a ruby to match her hair... I just think that the color red explains a lot in her life.

Ok, I quickly did a small modification of the banner. If there is something you guys still don't like or if you have an entirely different idea of the banner should be done, just tell me.

Here's the vanilla version:



This one has a slight oil painting effect:



This one has a wave effect (not sure why is it called wave effect):



This one has a vignet effect:



And this one has a very slight cloth effect:



I made the mistake of applying the effects over the text as well, so I'll fix that later, but I just wanted to show this off to see what people think of them.

Again, any suggestions (or a total redesign idea) is welcome.

I'd make the font stand out more from the back ground mostly.

Maybe making the font larger since there is a lot of empty space on it.

lol, was thinking the same thing though i don't know how much reach would be involved as they both seem pretty flexible.
