The Teyrn and Teyrna of Gwaren walked across the market district of Denerim. Teyrna Leliana would at times tell her husband about the adventures she had in this spot or another spot years before she met him in Lothering. Times during her life as a bard that she would tell him when they were alone. Secrets for just the two of them. He loved to listen to her stories. He always did. During their time when he courted her during the blight, he would eagerly anticpate their nights together on watch. She would sing, tell stories, and he would even try to tell her jokes just to hear her giggle.
They were in Denerim for a new Landsmeet that had been called by the King and Queen. Alistair and Anora had finalized a lasting truce between Orlais and Ferelden. It had been three years since he last saw the royal couple. It was when he married the love of his life, and made her nobility. Something Leliana still teased him about. "Imagine a bard as a noble!" Alistair was his best man at the wedding, and Anora was Leliana's maid of honor. It had made a small stir amongst Ferelden's nobility, marrying an Orlesian, but thanks to Fergus it did not last long. His marriage to the mage Petra was much more scandalous.
Daniel and Leliana made their way from the market through the alienage. Something they always did when they visited Denerim. A chance to see an old friend, Shianni. She was there near the end of the blight fighting as fiercely as any soldier. This so impressed Alistair he made her a Bann and member of his court. Something that annoyed Anora at first, but lead to a lasting bridge of understanding between the elves and humans, at least in the city. However, she had already left for the Landsmeet herself, and so they made their way to the palace district.
As they passed the Arl of Denerim's estate, Leliana shuddered and gripped Daniel's hand tightly. She had told him about what had happened here those many years ago at the hands of Raleigh. He had never seen her react like this except the last time they were here just before the Landsmeet. The one that united Ferelden for the final battle against the Arch Demon. The time he took vengeance against Rendon Howe for the murder of his family in Highever. He had asked her about it afterwards, but she had only recently told him about that time she was tortured, and Marjolaine's betrayal. She had never seemed so vulnerable before that moment, and all he could do was hold her tight. He swore she would never feel that way again. And now guilt washed over him for breaking that promise.
They walked past the estate until it was out of sight and stopped. She said nothing. Just looked into his eyes, and he could tell she remembered those nights in the dungeon as if they had just happened. He drew her close regretting haven taken this path to get to the palace. "I am so sorry," he said. She said nothing, just held him tighter and gave her nervous smile he had only seen on a few occasions. She was more understanding than he realized, and the pain only temporary. Only a memory.
The Landsmeet was uneventful. Old freinds reunited, and then departed. Nathaniel Howe, the Warden Commander after Daniel had left the order, was there as well. The old bond between the Couslands and Howes healed after the Battle of Amaranthine. Nathaniel was nothing like his father, and was even he that convinced Daniel that marrying Leliana was the best thing he could ever do despite defeating a blight and saving Amaranthine.
The Teryn and Teyrna of Gwaren returned home to their own family. Their daughter was now two, and the loving parents wanted to leave the politics behind. At least for now.

Aedan was many things, but not a politician. The blight had ended no more then five years ago and Aedan was wishing for another adventure. The once young, silver tongued nobleman was now going on twenty five, and he was starting to feel the boredom of politics. Alistair was off doing Maker knows what while Aedan played Regeant. “Maker. I wish I made a run for the Anderfels.” Aedan in cursed his thoughts as a farmer complained about a wheat shortage in his Bann. “……..Or maybe Cumberland.” Aedan kept daydreaming as the farmer went on to another topic unworthy on Aedan’s attention.
The Chamber doors cracked drawing Aedan’s attention, Leliana poked her head through the chamber door, .giving Aedan a smile as she slowly slid through the door. Aedan blew her a kiss, and returned the smile. Leliana giggled as she pretended to catch the invisible kiss and held it next to her heart. “And here I used to tease Fergus.” Aedan thought.
“Sire. these matters are worth your attention, do you need me to repeat?” The farner grew annoyed with Aedan and his ignorant attitude.
“No, continue Pixley.” Aedan chuckled and looked at the farmer.
“Sire, it’s Bradley.”
“Right…..”
“And to continue, my workers………..” The farmer continue ignoring Aedan’s ignorance. Aedan turned his gaze over to Leliana who was laughing at him once more.
“I wonder what Leliana would look like in a chainmail bikini.” He gave Leliana a devilish look, undressing her in his mind. “I doubt she would wear one, even if I asked nicely unless I agreed to……” Aedan thought. “No, I will not do that……………Maker, no.”

Yeah.. I don't really know how to make a sig.. so the size thing was kinda hard to judge in photobucket... wanted something that you could use with another sig if desired - anyways this way there's a choice.. you can either shout it or whisper..

If I ever win a prompt (which I don't want to really, since I'd hate to be the judge and prompt giver), I would add it to my gif rotation.
Makes me feel like a dirty copycat.
Anyway, considering the subject of this week's prompt, I think I can manage to get something out of my sausage grinder...

Five Years from the Blight
“How did I get here?” she wondered. The youngest Cousland stood heroically face-to-face with the Archdemon. The hideous beast bellowed and foul wisps of dark magic exuded out of its twisted, jagged jaws like drool. The effect was overwhelming and nauseating. Aislyn faltered. Only for a moment, but it was enough. A massive talon slammed against her. Before she had time to react, the Archdemon had her pinned to the ground.
The more she thrashed against it, the more pressure it applied to her body, ruthlessly choking and crushing her. She felt herself losing consciousness, and the world around her, the horde of darkspawn, the burning city below her, her companions, all faded away until the Archdemon was the only thing she could see before her. “No! No! This isn’t how it ends!” Aislyn panicked.
In her delirium, the great beast’s features began to transform, its perverse, marred flesh becoming smooth and iridescent. Though she struggled desperately to breathe, the Warden couldn’t help but marvel at its devastating beauty. Soon, even the great dragon itself began to fade away, until only a pair of hypnotizing amber-colored eyes remained. Just as Aislyn was certain her death was upon her, a familiar voice seemed to come from out of nowhere and everywhere at the same time. She heard it call out:
“Change is coming to the world…”
Aislyn woke with a start, gasping for air. Echoes of an old woman’s laughter reverberated in her head.
She took a moment to gather herself and determine her surroundings. The remnants of a fire in a hearth across from the bed provided the room with dim illumination. She was alive, awake, in a strange room, staying at an inn, with…Aislyn quickly turned to her side to check on Leliana.
“I know that look,” Leliana said with deep concern in her voice. During the Blight, Leliana had grown accustomed to waking in the middle of the night to discover the Warden disturbed by her dreams, but the Blight had been over now for years. “Darkspawn?” Leliana inquired.
The Warden shook her head, but then thought better of it. “No…yes, maybe,” she replied, “It’s all connected, isn’t it?” She hastily got out of the bed and crossed the room to lean against the mantel. She was frustrated.
For the past several years, she and Leliana had been attempting to unravel the mysteries left behind in the wake of the Blight. Aislyn’s last fateful meeting with her old friend Morrigan had put them on the trail of the Eluvian portals and the lost city of Arlathan. It was a journey that took them all across Thedas, from the Archives at the Grand Cathedral in Val Royeaux to the catacombs hidden beneath the great city of Minrathous, and beyond. The pair searched relentlessly for any new information that might chip away at all the secrets. They had even managed to locate several of the long broken mirrors. Yet, any truly meaningful connections between the ancient elves, the Tevinters, and their gods...any solid link between past and present events, remained elusive.
Still, as Aislyn looked back on it all, it was far from a failure. Their journey together was equal parts sight-seeing and adventure as much as it was a serious research endeavor. They traveled at their leisure and would often help fellow explorers they met along the way or take on odd jobs from the boards of local merchants and chantries. Life happily took them to amazing places, and Leliana never lacked for new tales to sing. Or for new shoes for that matter. (They had made it a tradition to purchase a new pair in each major settlement they came across. When the number of shoes became too silly to feasibly carry with them on the road, they shipped them forward to Highever to await their return, along with bundles of presents and souvenirs for Fergus and their newborn niece.)
The Warden sighed and smiled at her constant companion. Leliana gracefully slipped out of bed and tip-toed towards her, arms crossed. “Something’s not right,” Leliana almost whispered, “I can feel it.”
Aislyn agreed. She felt it too. And it wasn’t just the dream. The gossip from the last few villages they passed through had grown progressively ominous. An escalating, nervous electricity was buzzing in the air wherever they went. There were whispers of a mage uprising in the Free Marches led by some vagabond named…what was it? Falcon? The Qunari were making remarkable headway in their ongoing conflicts with the Tevinter Imperium. King Aeducan was apparently becoming ever more paranoid and a coup led by his closest advisor Vartag Gavorn was said to be underway. Conflicts between Dalish tribes and humans were on the rise. The latest Antivan Prince had been assassinated, again. The Divine in Orlais certainly wasn’t helping matters with her threats of Exalted Marches and the Chantry’s ongoing posturing. It seemed the whole world was at the brink of some monumental…change. Whatever that meant.
“Perhaps,” Leliana offered, “perhaps, it’s time for us to go back.”
“Go back? You mean Ferelden,” Aislyn questioned cautiously.
“Yes,” Leliana said firmly. “We have powerful friends there. You have power there. We can’t just stand by and do nothing when the world is…is…” her voice trailed off. “I’m sure we could do some good there,” she concluded.
“Maybe you’re right,” Aislyn acquiesced. She was reluctant to return. She’d never shirk her duty to her homeland, but the thought of returning to all the political intrigue, the never-ending accolades and expectations, was unwelcome.
Leliana could sense her reticence. She drew closer and clasped the Warden’s hands in her own.“Do you remember what you said to me all those years ago, the night before the Battle of Denerim?” Leliana asked.
“Yes, of course,” Aislyn replied as she reminisced fondly, “I told you that I love you and that I will follow you anywhere.”
“Mmhmm,” Leliana affirmed, “And I told you that whatever life has in store for us, my dear Warden, we’ll face it together, side by side.”
Aislyn smiled again and lightly touched her forehead against Leliana’s affectionately.
“So, it is settled then,” Leliana said cheerfully.
Aislyn nodded.
“Good. First thing tomorrow, we’ll head off for Ferelden. But first, let’s head off to bed,” Leliana ordered in a mock commanding voice.
“Lead the way!” Aislyn replied with a laugh.
Leliana giggled and gently pulled her dearest one back to bed.

I liked getting into his head, he shows this gruff exterior and tries to be a Grey Warden, Paragon, Arl, and Hero but he really dosent like it at all. One of the things that influenced how I RP Dain is that he is like the fourth Musketer from an old Cartoon, where when other people recieve awards and power, he was happy to just do his job, and having resolved things at the end of the day.
I enjoyed playing him more than my first DN a lot.

Leliana could really be made the Teyrna if you were the Teyrn of Gwaren.
Arl Eamon married Isolde. and you are just as big of a hero as he was so why not?
Fergus married an Antivan, although I dont know high noble his wife was.

That's where I got the idea, plus figured being the "Hero of Ferelden" would have it's perks.
As for Oriana that's a good question. I don't think he or she really say other than that Antivan women don't "openly" fight as warriors.

I dont play a Human Noble that much really, I only have three, and one is dead, the other is the chancellor to a hardened Alistair, and the other is stuck in Ostagar.
I can never ask for that boon with other Wardens though, it just seems silly that an elf or a mage can become a Teyrn.
