Leliana looked around her,. the courtyard was flooded in blood, the guard laid lifeless on the ground. She couldn’t walk anywhere without hitting a dead body. The Castle was decimated, the walls torn down, the houses burned, and the keep in ruins. In center of it stood Aedan, all she wanted was to feel his embrace again, but he was different she could see the darkness in his eyes.
“Aedan……...” She slowly approached Aedan. Her face showing sadness as they embraced each other.
“Leliana…” Aedan went wrapped his arms around her and took in her scent. The warmth of Leliana’s skin soothed the anger in his soul. As her head sank into his chest, Aedan’s heart stopped.
“Why…….. Are you doing this?” She slowly pulled away from Aedan, a tear ran down her face.
“I told you, I would give you the world.” Aedan smirked, wiping the tear from Leliana‘s face. “ Together we will create a new one.”
Leliana’s face filled with sadness and she pushed Aedan away. Her face turned to sorrow as she noticed the death around her again and the blood was on Aedan’s hands. He had left no one alive, and the evidence was on his hands.
“All this death, you did this and now you say, you did it for me!” Leliana’s sorrow turned to anger. She had truly lost Aedan. “You….You killed children, ………..children Aedan.”
“Yes, my love.” Aedan’s ears died to hear her approval. He heard the voices speak to him again, he remembered Flemeth’s words “You can even save her from death.”
“Come with me Leliana, and we will defeat death itself.”
“Defeat death; who are you, Aedan.” Leliana stared directly into his eyes. Aedan couldn’t bring himself to look at Leliana and tilted his head.
“Your going down a path, I can not follow. I’ve seen where this ends Aedan.” Leliana slowly started stepping back.
“Stupid girl, I’m doing this for you.” Aedan’s voice shook the ground. His thoughts went wild, and the voices returned. “If she really loved you, she would be by your side.” Aedan tried to push away the thought’s but he gave in.
“No, Aedan don’t do this.” Leliana felt an immense pain in her heart, like she had let love blind her again.
“If you are not with me, then you are against me.” Aedan wiped all sorrow from his face, he was willingly to give up love for power. He had murdered his own brother in cold blood, and now he stood in front of his lover.
“Aedan…… Don‘t. ” Leliana fell to the ground clutching her chest. Her eyes swelled as she thought about Aedan, and what caused his change.
Aedan drew his sword and walked to the side of his lover. At that moment Aedan had lost all emotion, he no longer felt pain, anger, even love.
“Aedan, your breaking my heart.” Leliana put all her strength into one shout and blacked out.
