@Lenimph:
Other than me apologizing for my behavior, there's not really anyone here saying something...

Oh well, I'm at school anyway so I really shouldn't be on the forums either way.

WELCOME TO THE WEEKLY LELIANA THREAD PROMPT!

This is a creative contest for all fans of Leliana to try and create something relevant to her character!
The rules are simple:You are given a prompt that serves as a base for your creation. It can be a word, or a sentence, an object, or even a tune. As long as it is relative to the character of Leliana. It can take any form as long as it can be put into a digital medium for easy judging.-Fanfic, doodle, song, video, etc..

The entries will be collected and judged at the end of the week, and the winner will be notified. The prompter of the week serves as the judge, and cant enter the contest.

Also please PM the prompter(me), with your entry, so I can affirm it is within my possession, after you post it on the thread.

You have until Sunday at 7:00 PM Pacific Time to submit your entry! The winner will be announced via PM and thread announcement that Sunday evening or Monday morning.
So this week's prompt, inspired by Leliana's time in the chantry, is:

Forbidden Fruit
Good luck everyone I'm really looking forward to see what you all come up with. ;)

Whacka"s entry did not get posted... so late is better than never....
enjoy...
****Sorry Whacka, as I was posting for the blog I saw that you never posted your story on the thread...

Prepare for a word wall with approx. 1800 words! :D

As the sun rised, it shone upon the Royal Palace's courtyard in Denerim, the grass started to sparkle. It was all covered in dew.
The autumn had arrived in Denerim. A major part of the courtyard was filled with leaves. The servants who usually take care of the courtyard had two days off, so there wasn't anyone that took care of it.
A ray of sunlight slipped past the curtains of Alarc and Leliana's bedroom, right into Alarc's face. But it wasn't this that woke Alarc up. It was one of his memories, one of his adventures…

Zevran was standing there, in a hall, as the leader of the Crows. He was responsible for the kidnapping of the son of Alarc and Leliana. Dhurgen and Ikinya had told them to go on, to Zevran. They would hold off the other Crows in order to buy them some time.
A sword fight ensued between Alarc and Zevran. Zevran had to fight for his life, but was no match for Alarc. And, at the end of it all, Zevran lied there on the ground.
He was severely injured.
"P-please… I… I didn't know…" Zevran said, while coughing up blood.
"You did. You damn well did. And this won't be forgiven."
"N-no…!" Zevran was pleading and begging, but it was all in vain.
Alarc raised his sword and swung it like Dhurgen swings his axe, decapitating Zevran. His head rolled on the floor and when Zevran's body hit the floor, a faint thud echoed through the hall. A stream of blood came out of the neck, creating a small pool of blood.

Alarc opened his eyes and sat now, his hair all messed up. He was sweating over his entire body and was breathing heavily.
"Oh Maker…" Alarc whispered. He was disturbed by the sight of the decapitated Zevran, just as how disturbed he was two months ago, when it truly happened.
He couldn't get it out of his head.
"Why Zevran… Oh why did you kidnap him…? Why did you do this for Marjolaine...?" he whispered. Alarc hid his face in his hands and sobbed "Why why why…"
Alarc's sobbing awoke Leliana. She turned her head and watched Alarc sobbing.
"Alarc…?" Leliana was sitting now and laid her hand on Alarc's shoulder.
"Alarc… What's wrong…?"
Leliana crawled over the bed to Alarc to sit next to him. He then revealed his face again and tears were rolling from his cheeks.
"I see him... I see… Zevran…" he said sobbingly. "I see me… decapitating him… His head… rolling… on the floor…"
Leliana sighed. She already had left it behind her, but it wasn't her who ended Zevran's life in a brutal manner. She didn't suffer from a aftermath of killing him, but Alarc clearly did.
It was bugging and haunting him for a month now. Almost every night he writhes. Almost every night the same nightmare returns. And there wasn't much that could be done about it. "Alarc… It had to be done…" Leliana rubbed Alarc's back with her hand, while Alarc hid his face in his hands again.
"Alarc, please look at me…" Alarc lifted his head again and looked in Leliana's eyes.
"He kidnapped our son… He did it, for Marjolaine. He knew that Marjolaine was our enemy. We can't blame Zevran for not knowing about our son, but he shouldn't have accepted Marjolaine's request…"
"But… but he was our… friend…"
"No, he wasn't. Didn't you knew? He tried to seduce me."
Alarc couldn't believe what he heard. Did Zevran try to seduce Leliana?
"W-what?" Alarc was flabbergasted.
"Yes… it is true…" Leliana grabbed Alarc's hands. "But I ignored him. I didn't like him. I didn't love him. And if I would love him, I wouldn't love him as much as I love you."
Alarc raised his left eyebrow. "Wow. That's cheesy."
"But we are a cheesy couple…"
Leliana smiled. She embraced Alarc and gave him a small kiss.
Alarc wiped the tears from his face.
"Thanks for cheering me up."
Leliana smiled. Then, Alarc kissed her before heading for the balcony. He moves the curtains aside, so that the door leading to the balcony is revealed.
While he stands on the balcony, Alarc looks at the courtyard, and notices that the servants responsible for the wellbeing of the courtyard were getting rid of all the leaves.
"About sodding time… The courtyard is a mess." he mumbled.
He then switched his view to Denerim.
Denerim has always been a beautiful sight. Especially during sunrise. A yellow glow accentuated the Arl's estate and several other buildings. It was enthralling to see and would never lose its magic every morning.
Alarc was still thinking about Zevran. And then about Marjolaine again. At least she wouldn't be after them anymore. Especially not after this Hawke had helped them with tracking Marjolaine down in Kirkwall. Before Zevran's death, he told the couple that Marjolaine headed for Kirkwall. Or, at least, that's what she told Zevran.
The score had been settled. She didn't escape a third time. And if she had escaped, she would now also meddle with Hawke.

Alarc went back inside to dress himself. Breakfast was already served, and it was going to be a long (and possibly a tedious) day.
Leliana was already dressing up. She always needed Alarc's help with tightening her corset. After she was dressed up, she woke up Zeral, their four year old son. Since Zeral couldn't dress himself, Leliana had to help him. He wore the same type of clothes that Alistair had made for Leliana and Alarc by the best tailors of Ferelden and Orlais. It was the first time that they saw Zeral in them, and it suited him perfectly.
"Well well well..." Alarc said with a grin. "If I didn't knew better, I'd say that he was a Arl!"
"I thought so, too." Leliana giggled. "Anyway, I'll head downstairs with Zeral."
Leliana walked towards the door, but stopped and turned her head.
"Forgot to ask... Do you feel better already about Zevran?" Leliana tilted her head.
"Yes. Yes, I'm fine..." Alarc sighed. "You know what they say... Time heals all wounds."
"...But scars remain..." Leliana mumbled, almost loud enough for Alarc to hear it.
"I'm sorry, I couldn't hear what you say..."
"Oh, don't worry about it. It.. it's nothing."
Alarc raised his left eyebrow. When Leliana left the room and closed the door, Alarc walked towards the wardrobe. He grabbed his clothes and dressed himself. He then headed downstairs too.

The Royal Palace had magnificent and huge halls and... hallways. They were beautifully decorated with ornaments, paintings, statues... But the statue that Alarc likes the most is king Maric's statue.
It is a huge statue with Maric on it, of course. With his sword he points forwards, as if he commands an army to attack. It basically resembles the war with Orlais.
In the same hall where Maric's statue is located, there's also a statue to be found with Alarc, Leliana and Dwayne on it. It was a surprise of Alistair. He had the statue made when the couple was heading for Weisshaupt.

When Alarc arrived, he was surprised to see Alistair.
"Wow! King Sleepyhead is already awake?!"
"Ha ha, very funny Alarc." Alistair said sarcastically.
Alarc tilted his head.
"Who are you and what have you done with Alistair?"
Leliana began to snigger.
"Stop the jokes Alarc, or you won't get the gift I told you about."
Alistair waved with the letter, signalling it was the gift.
"But the priiiiizeee..."
Alistair sighed.
"Anyway, one more question about the gift: will you wrap it up and put a pretty bow on it?"
Both Alarc and Leliana bursted out in laughter here, while Alistair was very annoyed by Alarc's comment.
"Say what? Screw you, Alarc." He pointed towards Alarc now. "Screw. You."
Alarc and Leliana bursted out in laughter again, though it quickly died. Alarc then took a seat at the table and started with eating breakfast.
"Anyway, about the gift..." Alistair began as he opened the letter. "I got here a letter that will interest you both... Alarc, you know about West Hill, right?"
"Yes. Yes, I do. I was born there."
"Well, since Bann Franderel has been exiled from Ferelden and the tyranny of the commander has stopped – thanks to you and your companions – West Hill is going to need a new Bann. One that is loyal to the crown."
Alarc and Leliana looked at each other, guessing what was coming next.
"Now I have sent some of my men over there to see who would be the best candidate to become Bann... And guess what, Alarc? They chose YOU and Leliana, your wife."
Alarc's mouth fell wide open. He was flabbergasted. And so was Leliana. Both first looked into each other's eyes before turning their head towards Alistair.
"You said what?" Alarc said in disbelief.
"Yep, it's true. You're going to be Bann of West Hill. And I say congratulations!"
Then the couple looked in each other's eyes again. They were overjoyed, but weren't sure if they were up for the task.
"Now I'm sure that you two are up to the task. I already had prepared a wagon for you. A Bann's wagon. You'll be leaving within a small hour. As we speak, servants are already packing your stuff."
"Wow, Alistair..." Alarc still thought it was all a dream. "Thank you..."
"Oh, don't thank me. Thank the population of West Hill. They seem to trust you. Which isn't strange, after all. You ended the corruption there."
Then a servant walked in.
"Ki – I mean, Ser Alistair, the wagon has been prepared. All of the stuff has been packed and loaded on the wagon."
"This fast already?" Alistair was surprised by the speed of the servants. He was very proud of them and gave the servant a sovereign.
"Here, take this. I'm also going to give the others some, so don't worry about that. You deserved it."
"Th-thank you, Ser Alistair."
The servant then left the room again.
"Well, first we will finish breakfast. Then, we'll be heading for West Hill." Alarc said.
Leliana still thought it was all a dream, considering she said nothing all time long.

When they finished breakfast, Alarc, Leliana and Zeral jumped onto the wagon. Alistair ordered the servants to get Dwayne from the kennels, considering it was Alarc's mabari.
And so, they said their farewells to Alistair and headed for West Hill, to live a new life. A life not only as a family, but also as the Bann of West Hill.

End is a bit rushed, but I had been working on it for a while and didn't felt like wast - spending more time on it. And the structure of the sentences are sometimes... not good.
But still, I hope you enjoy(ed) it.

@Zeleen
Oh, don't worry about it. It doesn't matter. ;)

In my opinion, the story is more about my protagonist than Leliana. I had changed the intro, for example, but the deadline was already passed.
Anyway, I'm gonna include the newer version in a document of fanfics I have written. Someday, when I have the inspiration, the willpower and the time, I might connect it to the other fanfic I was writing. It'll be part of a story then.

The newer version includes more Leliana now in the intro.

Sorry to change topic everyone, but after playing through last night, I have a question. What do you think happens in the future for Leli and the Warden if you leave Marjolaine alive? Despite everything, I've never killed Marj, nor hardened Leli. I like to think that Leli and Marj do cross paths again, but in my view, Marj will be a broken person, as her lifestyle just shrivels her. I like to think that Leli will help Marj perhaps be "reborn", and they can finally have true closure.

Perhaps I'm just an eternal optimist :)

Well, it is a appealing topic Ashaman...

It would be a nice plot twist (or twist ending; whichever you like the most). It's hard to imagine though.
I always saw Marjolaine as a mad twisted psychopat who wants to see Leliana dead...

Perhaps it's just me.

Mmm...I suddenly have a craving for an apple. I wonder why?

@Lenimph - Belated congrats!!

@Ashman - I consider myself a huge softie, and I never harden Leliana either. However, I do always kill Marjolaine. I'm certain if she's alive, they would indeed cross paths again and it wouldn't be pretty. With her lifestyle and given all she's said and done, I think she's become too full of spite and, imo, seems long beyond redemption already. Perhaps, I could see a dying confession of regret, but beyond that I'd be skeptical...

I had similar thoughts to yours once...some times I felt bad for killing Marjolaine (yes I know blasphemy)
But once Leliana's Song came out I no longer had any doubts about her. She's a cruel, cold hearted person who puts herself first, and is willing to hurt the only people who care about her for her own self gain.
Disgusting.

I would say that yes, you are an eternal optimist.

As Lenimph mentioned, after playing Leli's Song (and to be honest, even without playing it) it's clear that Marjolaine is nothing but a monster, one who will never change. The minute she has a chance, she will strike at Leli again if she's left alive, hence why she always dies in my games.

Oh, and I also never harden Leli.
