Still regardless of how it turns out, I think Arcturus and Leliana in Gwaren (or anywhere else) would make an awesome duo, as they are playing politics.

But, I get the feeling that Arcturus would have Anora question what he was doing with a certain red headed bard in Gwaren for a few months. Hmmm, it would be difficult having Leliana around too often.

Heh, does anyone else ever feel their inner Warden become a bit jealous when Leliana and her relationship with someone else is mentioned/shown. It's a bit silly, but I'd imagine Ophelia flipping out right about now during this Arcturus/Leliana discussion.

Honestly power is her concern, not romance, I doubt she even cares as long as she is Queen.

In my book a fling usually involves sex (or at least some physical interaction), which you only get until you reach adore.

I think he ended it before it got there.

Oh, a fling for me means flirting exceeding the line of casual flirting.....hmmm might have to revise my definitions.

She still is jealous of Morrigan initially and then says that Morrigan is lucky. So, that was on her mind, even if she didn't initiate it. I am thinking that some of those feeligns might remain or might re-emerge in that together alone in Gwaren scenario.

I also think it would make for some interesting stories (hardened Leli of course).
Would Anora really have a problem with Leli as a mistress? Or are you referring to the bard thing?

I don't think that. By Awakening, it seems that Anora could warm up the Warden (and this scenario of mine is post Awakening). I don't think Anora has to stay that way, I can definitely see her and Cousland falling in love or at least getting closer. 

So, I'd like to think she would be somewhat jealous by that point. Arcturus' goal is to make her like him at least.

You missed my edit. Yes, she'd be jealous of course, as she felt it was the beginning of something special. But my point was that the earlier the relationship is broken the easier it would be for her to dismiss any feelings she might have had.

Tell me about it!! I can't even romance her with a different character (which is why I have multiple versions of the same character... I know, I'm crazy!)

No, she wouldn't. But by Awakening, she seems to start liking the Warden and I like to think Arcturus' charm is irresistible
Joking, but still, he would try to make her like him as a husband and not just as a partner.

So, if this happens after Awakening, wouldn't she start being jealous?
I really do think that Anora can warm up to the Cousland. Especially since Arcturus really doesn't want to challenge her.

Actually, I've heard some comments where she expresses nervousness about the upcoming wedding in Origins, so I guess it is possible for her to fall for him eventually. Well, as far as Anora could "fall" for anyone.

I'll openly admit to feeling defensive at times when it comes to Leliana's character, though I feel a bit silly when I think about it. You're definitely not alone!

See I think Anora always will have the throne and the country ahead of anything.



She may come to like the warden and trust them, but like her father she will always have Ferelden in mind first, Also dosent the epilouge hint at the consort and Anora fighting over power?

Aye aye! I didn't even create new characters untill 4 or 5 sucessive playtroughs as Ophelia. Leliana was loved in every single one of them.
Now when I'm playing as my other Wardens, I feel the need to do yet another playtrough as Ophelia. I can't even bring myself to talk to her as my Amell, as he is such a smug, slimey snake.

The two PCs I had who romanced Morrigan, its was SO hard to not romance Leliana.
Than playing a Dwarf Noble who was not interested in humans, was also a pain.

Sure, that could happen as well. I mean, it is possible to restart the relationship in Origins even after you break up (assuming you do it before the second chance at restarting the romance appears), so it's entirely possible that in the right context, there'd be a chance for some feelings to reemerge.

She doesn't show that much in her cameo no. But the epilogue hints at it. It says that even she couldn't stop herself from smiling as the Prince rode back to Denerim in triumph.
And yes, she says she is nervous for the wedding and finds us intimidating (I love that compliment!).

So I do think that a Cousland can make her fall for him, if played "right". If he makes it look like he is a threat to her power, that won't work.

Now maybe if Arcturus already took Leliana as mistress, Anora might hesitate. But if he didn't and she starts to like him and then she hears that he was in Gwaren *for months* with a good looking bard. Eeeh she is going to start thinking things.

Of course, that does not mean she can't love someone, or like someone a lot. Arcturus has the same conception anyways.

And no it doesn't. It says that if they don't fight, it would be a golden age. It implies that they could fight, but that doesn't have to happen.

That's the reason why I can't create any new characters in Origins (what I do is come up with contrived stories about my Dana could come from different origins), I would have to completely ignore Leli (and Morrigan's friendship) and that would be too horrible!! Any new characters I come up with I play them in Awakening, where I don't have any strong emotional attachments to bother me.

I know, it's crazy, but I can't help it!! The idea of getting Leli's love speech (and Morrigan's friendly speech) at the Denerim gates with a different character would kill me!!

I guess in that scenario (where Leli wasn't his mistress), she could start getting a bit concerned. But from what you've said, she has nothing to worry since Arcturus wouldn't actually go through with it.

Actually, Zevran's, Sten's, and Oghren's speeches wouldn't feel the same either. And neither would Dog's worried whining!!

Gah, the only speech I could listen without feeling anything is Wynne's and that's because I hate her!!

Like I would care what people think is right lol. I really hate discussing the validity of choices in the game (except going to the circle to cure Connor aaargh!). So I don't think I want to go there, it would serve little purpose.
