Remember that prompt thing I wrote something for it!
Leliana knew what she was doing was wrong. But she could not sit with herself as she heard the Cousland inside the son of Maric’s tent. Hastely she went inside the warden’s tent and grabbed the leather adorned journal, marked with the Cousland’s seal of laurels. “I shouldn’t be doing this,” the bard muttered to herself, “I have no right to be going through her secrets.” Regardless Leliana scanned through the stories of youth the Cousland wrote in her journal; girlish crushes, romps with the knighted and maid hands, stories that she had shared with Leliana in the night… until she reached stories of the blight.
Maker,
I have met a crazed woman of beauty, an Orlesian chantry girl. In that tavern her red hair glowed, and she spoke of a divine connection in the most soothing voice that has ever graced my ears. I’m sure the look on my face, of instant attraction and outright desire, would have gotten me slapped by my mother if she saw me. Morrigan looked like she might have done just so… actually.Leliana giggled and turned the page. She was shocked… there was nothing written about Alistair… well there was a few sentances where she called him dumb and handsome but compared to what she saw written about herself, she was amazed dumbfounded…
My heart is broken; how dare she say that to me! The moment’s we have shared, the nights we spent in her tent, how dare she tell me to be with that man. Why Leliana why? Oh I know I am selfish and I know it was unjust to court you both… But…
I know I said I wanted to be queen. I know I said that putting the Cousland name on the thrown would make my parents happy. But is it really worth it? Knowing that I will lose you… Leliana.
Do you really want this for me? Is this really what will you make you happy? I look at you now sitting across the fire, you look so disheartened. I just want to walk up to you and take you into my arms and forget about everything, the blight, Alistair, the throne, even Howl.
After what Marjolaine has done to you, how am I supposed to be happy with myself next to Alistair. When he holds me, whispers endearments all I can think about is you, what I have done to you.
I wish… that our love was never a secret Leliana… that you where my only love. I would scorn Alistair if this was not what you wanted, my friend.
I do not fight for Alistair, I do not fight for the Wardens, I do not fight for Ferelden Nobility, but I fight for Leliana, to make the land safe for her.It was a month’s time since she cut the Cousland from her love life, and nothing more was written in the journal. Leliana left the tent to see the Cousland leaving Alistair’s with a blank, tired expression. The Cousland caught her and raised an eyebrow. Leliana flashed her a smile and beckoned her to come to her…
They would no longer keep secrets from eachother.
