I don't have much time to post at the moment since I'm busy with college essays and a certain little creation for this thread. I think you'll like it Zjar. However, I'm not sure when it's gonna be done. I get easily sidetracked... oh, shiny!

I think we've all but discussed every Leli topic here to death, but I was wondering the other day what would happen when your Warden has their calling. Would Leli stay behind and live out her remaining years, would she join your Warden, even though she isn't a Warden herself? What about if they had kids/adopted kids? If they didn't, I would see Leli going with her Warden, so that when they were dead, they would continue on together. If they have kids however, I see Leli staying behind for the sake of the family.
Apart from that, I'm wondering we'll ever see Leli again in a DA game. If/when DA3 is made, there will probably be new character to play. As important as the Warden and Hawke was/is, they aren't the focus of the series. At least if you use your imagination, your Warden and Leli are happy off.

I also see Leli joining the Warden on their calling if there are no kids in the mix. Hell, even there were kids, I still see her going. I guess it would depend on how old the kids are too. But I don't see my warden and Leli adopting children. Doggie would be all the extra company they need.
I have imagined the moment when my warden goes off to her calling several times, and I always see Leli going with her. I imagine my warden pleading her not to go and then Leli asking her what she would do if the situation was reversed. Needless to say, my warden would go with her if that were the case, so she stops fighting about it and let's her come along.
Alas, my sparing of Avernus was meant to avoid this situation, since I RP that he teaches my warden how to control the taint.
As for Leli in future games, I don't see it happening and honestly, it doesn't bother me. My imagination can come up with far better stories for my girls than whatever Bioware would end up doing (which I feel wouldn't be satisfying).

Ahem. As for the Calling, I actually have the same deal with Avernus as does Zjarcal. I imagine he would dig up something to extend the the life of my Warden. She would also adopt Amethyne (I'm still pissed at the devs for not allowing us to do that), but most likely send her to Highever so Fergus can watch over her. Ophelia travels too much to have a child with her all the time. Still, she'd visit the kid as much as she can.
If she did undergo the Calling however, she would most likely take Leliana with her after being delivered a verbal smackdown by the bard. She would also take a load of Dworkin's explosives with her as a present for the darkspawn. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. Ophelia wouldn't leave their bodies to rot in those darkspawn-filled tunnels.

And the risk of Leliana going to the calling with her... is too big of a risk... what if she gets captured by the darkspawn and...

But, if it did come to the Calling, she would do everything in her power to protect Leliana and prevent her from coming along. I'm pretty sure Leliana would protest, but hopefully with thirty years give or take to prepare, my warden would have the time to make sure they both came to terms with it well beforehand. It'd be pretty hypocritical of her (since, of course, if the situation was reversed she'd never let Leli go alone), but I can't see my warden agreeing to that.
...Well, now that I've thoroughly depressed myself...*watches Bon Bon Attack! over and over* ahahahahaha! so frickin funny!!!...There, now I feel better.

Optimistically, my warden would find some way to indefinitely postpone the calling. If that didn't work, I've gotta agree with Lenimph....My warden would strongly consider eschewing the tradition all together and ending her own life on her own terms, preferably in Leliana's arms.

I'd hate to create an even more depressing atmosphere, but something occured to me. Generally speaking, wouldn't it be best if a female Warden attended their Calling with a companion to make sure she actually dies while fighting and/or doesn't get captured?
If she went alone, the darkspawn would most likely try to keep her alive so they could turn her into a broodmother which, to me, is definatley in the Top Ten of the DO NOT WANT list (And doesn't the taint, if the Calling is refused, turn her into one anyway? I know males will go insane and turn into ghouls).
If Leliana realized that her lover is doomed to a fate worse than death, I don't think anyone's Warden could stop her from accompanying them on their Calling.
Then again, some fem!Wardens probably don't care. Mine does, because she never wanted to be a Grey Warden in the first place, and finding out that she's doomed to either die or become some horrifying monster made her very resentful.
*goes back to lurking, utterly depressed*
