My CE fell for her due to her lighthearted nature.

Leliana helped her get over the whole Vaughn experience and my elf protected her from Majorlaine.

They'll probably end up travelling across Thedas in the end.

Do any of you RP why your Warden fell for Leliana?
Just my Nobles for Example:
Theodoric: 2H Berserker, Leliana calmed him down after battle, which made everyone happy
Robin: Archer/Rouge, liked her because she was the only person who can outshoot him
Thomas: Has a thing for Orlesians, and red heads.

What about the rest of y'all?

I like the match of her and my Spirit Healer Ama, since both characters have a similar background. Leliana loses her mother when she was young, Ama is taken from her family at a very young age. Both have a similar betrayal by somone they thought they knew and trusted, Ama betrayed by Jowan who turned out to be a blood mage and left her in the tower for dead at the hands of the Templars. Both of them sort of have nobody else in the world and I always think a mage character once freeded from the tower would want to do nothing more than see the world that they were previously barred from. So I actually liked the ending of Awakening (realitively speaking) where she abandons the Grey Wardens and runs off with Leliana to continue their travels. I never really understand the loyalty so many people have to the Grey Wardens and why so many choose to rebuild the order after the defeat of the Archdemon.

I am doing that less and less now, they

:Lie to you

:Poison you

:Conceal how a blight is actually done

I have little sympathy for the order and what they do to people.

My Wardens love being GW but rebuilding the Order seems like such a long-term goal (how much progress did Duncan make in the twenty years he'd been a Warden?) and not really all that pressing as the next Blight will likely not occur within your lifespan. So basically, it's really boring and they all have better things to do.

They also seem to be a rather incompetent military organization, I get that the concealment of how a blight is ended is done for story reasons and to make the Dark Ritual seem very attractive to people who are still a bit shocked at what has been kept from them. I mean Duncan doesn't tell you why the handful of Grey Warden's are actually present ot the Battle of Ostagar, which is to kill the Archdemon if it shows up. In the military you have to know the duties of everyone two or three ranks ahead of you in case they are killed in battle, leadership can't break down just because the ranking officer gets his head blown off. It seems incredibly dangerous and foolish that Duncan has members of his tiny Ferelden order that have no idea why they're at Ostagar to begin with, he can't gaurantee that he will survive the initial contact to make the final blow. Although the entire force deployment for Ostagar makes no sense so I don't hold it against Bioware.

Comparing the Wardens to any military order in history is laughable at best:

They conceal vital intel from their own troops

Instead of making his point Duncan backs down from every fight with Cailan

Instead of being an elite assualt squad they fight en masse with armies

Riordian becoming a funny stain all over the ground

The closest real life analogy to the Wardens is the French Foreign Legion, but those guys kick arse and are amazing. One has to wonder how this order even ties it shoes on in the morning.

None of my Wardens ever choose to rebuild the order.

They all either run off with their LI, chase after Morri, become prince-consort, or just end up travelling.

Those who romanced Lelian would only settle down if she agreed to marry them. Otherwise it's the 2 of them seeking adventure outside of Ferelden.

I did hear Orlais is lovely this time of year...

Does chosing to be an Chancelor count towards anything in the end?
Is it a boon or what you decide to do with your life at the end, since I never have picked it.

Ask to continuet to serve the crown and that is your boon complete with its own epilogue slide. You get the most power under an unhardened Alistair solo-King who basically makes you run the country while he's off meeting the people and court business grinids to a halt when you aren't there. If a hardened Alistair and Anora take the throne together then you are basically obsolete so don't bother with the boon then.

That's an interesting thing to say, since at the end of an Orlesian Warden playthough there seems to be some hinting that another blight is beginning in rapid succession after the fifth and it might be starting around Weisshaupt fortress. I wouldn't be surprised if the Darkspawn awaken the last two old gods at the same time, burst out of the ground at Weisshaupt and eradicated the entire Grey Warden leadership in one massive surprise attack. If there were two Archdemons their line of advance could be massive with Darkspawn armies from the Anderfells all the way to Orlais tying down massive amounts of manpower.

I find prince-consort to be a lot better than chancelor.

I like to think that Anora runs the country while I run the military and grey wardens.

The fact that she does seem to develope feelings for the Warden in Awakening is an added bonus. Makes the whole marriage seem less like a business deal.

Still, chancellor is availabe to everyone and consort is only available to a HN.

^ If you kill the Architect then your epilogue will say that the circle with the tainted gods will continue.

It could take another 400 years for the darkspawn to find one, but a 5th blight is unavoidable. They Grey Wardens are needed and they are going to remain in the lore(even if we don't get to play as one in the next game).

That's still not a reason for my characters to stay at Vigils Keep though :P

The down side to being prince-consort is being married to Anora  I wish having her publically beheaded was a boon.

Consort is at least better than mistress. Can never do that to my charachters ever, or Leliana for that matter. I came really close with my Robin Cousland, but in the end Alistair got Anora. Waking up to that?

Doesn't the man have to be married to have a mistress?

Indeed.

Which means you have to marry Anora and keep Leliana as your mistress (or Zevran if you prefer).

If you marry Anora then Awakening will **** up your romance. You ending will say that your PC left the court and disappeared alone. If you had Leliana as your mistress(and in love with you) then you'll get no mention of her. I'm pretty sure the same happens if you married Alistair without being in love with him.

I thought you were talking about a non-noble female warden who stays with Alistair when he becomes solo king, that's usually called the "Mistress ending" even though Alistair isn't married and doesn't really seem all that likely to.

I always choose to travel with Leliana, and that's what I imagine she does with my Warden after Awakening.

Leliana is like strawberry jam in a croissant: French/Orlesian on the outside and sweet on the inside. Yum!

Nah, I only ever romanced Alistair once for the achievement.

I preffer to keep him as a friend rather than a lover. My female wardens are reserved mostly for Leliana and sometimes Zevran when the mood strikes me.

The Blight you dealt with was the fifth. But if the next Blight takes anywhere near as long as the time difference between the others then someone else can do it and you're in no hurry.

And I strongly disagree with 'it doesn't seem likely that Alistair will get married.' Have you ever heard his post-Landsmeet breakup speech? He tells you that its his duty to try to have heirs and thus will need to get married although you can convince him to let you be his mistress if hardened.
