So is there a way to deactivate a romance flag without getting the breakup speech?

Other than not talking to her afterwards? Can't think of one, sorry.

Bummer. I thought someone would have managed to find the switch/trigger/flag which sets those things on and off, allowing for a bypass of breakup talk...

I use the epilogue editor to change the romance status and hardening status from time to time. It does not trigger talks as far as I can tell. Despite the name of the mod and it's warnings using features like romance active/romance inactive works well enough in the middle of a game.

I used to not like Leliana. But I romanced her this playthrough for the trophy. And she is rather sweet really. I did the Cute Nug quest and now a cute nug is in camp by her. :)

I am curious what the end is if she is with you.

I usually have Zevran.

I may romance her again in another playthrough.

Not only in another playthrough.... In EVERY playthrough.

My first romance was, believe it or not, with Morrigan. Then I decided to do a romance with Leliana.
Ever since, I found myself unable to NOT start a romance with her. :?:mellow:

You say that like it's a bad thing. :P

@ Dhraiauvessillus: Glad to hear Leli grew on you! :)  Her ending is actually pretty similar to Zevran's if she's in love with the warden.

Well, now I've heard her whistling (who knew?!) but still no humming...Perhaps you're right Zjar, and I'm just misinterpreting her hum as a giggle? This is going to drive me crazy xD...

She totally hums I just heard it a few days ago.
It rarely happens though I've only heard it twice.

And I agree about the giggle being melt worthy.

Augh! Must...hear...humming! *renews efforts*

At least on the plus side I'll be hearing Leli giggle a lot...never gets old. ^_^

Hmm....true.
Having never roleplayed such a character,  that thought didn't really occur to me. :innocent:

does anyone know if leliana will be appearing in DA2? i'm not interested in other details about that game--i just want to know if these two crazy kids get to keep wandering all over the world killing darkspawn together like they talked about in camp. i'm crushing on leliana pretty hard and would love it if my warden got to spend more time with her.

Well, the Warden isn't going to be the protagonist in DA2, but I'm hoping that there will at least be a minor reference to Leliana and the warden somewhere in the game, if not an outright cameo.  Only the devs know at this point though.

Heh since someone brought it up.

Leliana Voice actress', Corinne Kempa,  voice pro page says she's working on Dragon Age in 2010(Leliana's song) & 2011 (???)...

I wouldn't look into it much though...

Gah... I found the humming file in the toolset but for some reason I can't preview it like with regular dialogue!!!

On the subject of a Leli cameo, I'd like a reference maybe, one that acknowledges if you romanced her. An actual cameo though? Eh, not sure if I'd really want it.

EDIT: About the humming, according to the toolset it's supposed to kick in when she's "bored", so I assume you have to stand around doing nothing for a while.

Ooooo...interesting find!

This makes it more difficult for me not to get my hopes up.

EDIT:

@Zjar - Bored, huh? That explains why I've been having such a hard time triggering it. Awesome!

Freaking typos... ok, I fixed it. I meant to say that "I can't preview it", not "can", gah.

By the way, there are DOZENS of audio files in here that I've never heard. For instance, there is one for Leli being poisoned where she says "Now i'm poisoned? The irony kills me"...

EDIT: There is also one for... failed spell?

"Ooops! Oh well."

lol oh the irony!

And "failed spell"?  As if she were a mage?

Where are these files located? I just tried finding them in the toolset and failed myself. xD

They are in the Global subfolder of the _Core Soundsets folder (in the Conversations section). The file is called ss_leliana.

But for some reason I can't preview any of the lines, just read the text... *grumbles*

EDIT: And yeah, that failed spell thing threw me off. Is it meant for when a spell you (or Morrigan/Wynne) make gets resisted or something? No idea really.

Ah, okay I see it now. I was looking for it in the Followers folder.

From looking around at the other companions' files (too much fun!), it seems they all have something for "failed spell" and "combat mana low" too. Weird.

Shame we can't preview them...some of them are pretty hilarious.

A thought occurred to me. In the Bioware RPGs of yesteryear (NWN, Baldur's Gate), it was possible for characters to multi-class (gain levels in more than one class).

Maybe at some point during the (long) development of Dragon Age, multi-classing was considered, thus you could've made Leli a Rogue/Mage, or Sten a Warrior/Rogue, etc. It's a far fetched possibility, but if those files are there in the toolset, it's a possibility.

Bioware did say that at one time they considered having Leliana be a warrior.

Maybe it was that they recorded lines for everything before they had finalized the classes.

Ah, that I didn't know! It would make sense then for them to have covered all the possibilities regarding classes for each companion.

Naaa, Leliana is so roguish. With elegance, charm and seeming innocence, but at the core deadly and dangerous. With tremendous sex appeal.

Morrigan is a class on her own.
Mixing the mystery, exoticness and raw power of mages. And the cunning and charm of a rogue.

[Insert Arcturus' stamp of mad love]
