I always call Leliana crazy there for the giggle and response you get.  <3:lol:

Same here.

Sometimes I have a hard time choosing between "Sure, where's the jar?" and the sentence in which you say that she's crazy.

The first one because her laugh turns me into a small puddle.
The second one just for teh lulz, the response and the giggle, of course. :D

You do realize you're in the Leli thread, right? We're all crazy about her in here!

Hmmm... You're right about that one.

*doors of wardrobe start cracking*

Er... My back?

*doors break and Leliana-related stuff starts flooding out of the wardrobe*

._.'

...I should get better doors next time.

I will admit that if Bioware/EA sold more Leliana related materials I would have bought them. I still kick myself in the head everyday for not getting that Sacred Ashes poster pack they were selling at the Bioware store.

I wanted to buy dat Leliana poster (together with the Sten poster), but since I despise PayPal and don't have a credit card, it was a no-go for me... :(

Le sigh.

Perhaps we should send an angry letter to Priestly or Gaider with the words "We", "want" and "Sacred Ashes posters"?

Wade's light drakeskin armor looked good on Leliana, and at least she has the bard dancing shoes.  I was torn between leaving the robes of possession on Morrigan, but the reapers vestments look fine and womanly on her as well.  She seems more into functionality than skin-baring anyway.

But even though Morrigan became a good arcane warrior, I couldn't stand putting heavier armor on her.  I just gave her some extra dexterity and she survived with better defense.

Nice. :o

But now you gave me the idea of making such a monument in Roblox... :P

But mine monument is made of rock!

Nothing not even time itself will take it down.

Nothing that is, but exploding shrubs!

Build a fortress man! Or a statue of yourself. Or a bunker. Or an Arc of Triumph.

Or a penis with balls as Yahtzee suggested.

I have built quite a large castle.

Currently I am working on a large tower to over look a bridge and the sea.

I'm sure this has been covered before, so I apologize. But why on earth did Bioware put that obnoxious dwarf in Awakening and none of the really compelling characters? A letter from Leliana at the beginning, and that's it? Nathanial Howe is a fine rogue, but everytime he does anything I just miss Leliana. Was it just that Corinne Kempa wasn't available?

I don't think it was because of Corinne. I remember reading an interview with her and, iirc, she said Bioware knew she loved to voice Leliana and would be happy to do it again. (*keeping my fingers crossed for DA2*)

Out of all the companions, Oghren and Wynne were at the bottom of my list of who I wanted to see again....Well, technically, they didn't even make the list. So I can sympathize. I've forced a few of my favorite wardens to slog through Awakening on the off-chance that any of the decisions in the expansion have a significant impact in the future. But to my mind, Awakening is better when playing with a fresh start as an Orlesian warden.

A few of my wardens went through it.

Most dont though. Because they are off somewhere in Orlais with a certain bard.

Same here. I did run Awakening once with my imported warden but I deleted that run.

As for why Leli wasn't a companion, I would say for the same reason none of the other companions (except Oghren) were either, too many variables that ended in their death. Handwaving Oghren's death (which can happen) is not that big deal due to how rare it is. Handwaving the deaths of other companions is a bigger issue.

Not to mention, the budget of Awakening probably didn't allow for any of the voice actors to be hired again for a full project.

Thanks for the responses.  I put computer games down for about a decade -- maybe I'm too addiction-prone, but they can really interfere with real life.  My last games were Wizardry 8 and Elder Scrolls.  Both were fun but really just hack-and-slash with a better-than-average plot.  So I was unprepared for the real emotional content of DAO.  Bravo to Bioware for that.  But the downside is that now I don't feel like going back to the same world without the characters I've come to love.  I'm forcing myself to slog through Awakening because it was part of the Ultimate Edition I bought.  But it's a real chore.  I'm sure it's a great game in its own right, but I just can't enjoy it.  And I'm not at all sure I'll get DA2.  Maybe I'll wait until DA3 comes out and see if it brings back the old characters, at which point I'll play through DA2 to get to DA3.

Bioware games have pretty much ruined me for a lot of other games. It's hard to match the depth of their stories and characters.

I'm looking forward to DA2 and meeting a new cast of characters though. Since we wont be playing as wardens I think it will be easier to move on. Awakening just felt like it didn't have the same amount of quality and care put into it that Origins did, but from what I can tell so far DA2 seems to be shaping up to be better in that department.

Agreed. My first Bioware RPG was Neverwinter Nights (I only played that little over a year ago) and I enjoyed it so much that I needed moar. Enter Dragon Age and my life as I knew it was over... :P

Honestly though, it's hard to go back to other games with characters and stories that feel shallow (even if they really aren't) when compared to the stuff Bioware churns out.

As for DA2, I'm really looking forward to it and meeting the new characters. I honestly can say that I won't miss the characters from Origins since this is a new story with a new protagonist. To tell you the truth, I'm not even sure I ever want to see my warden back, as I'm not sure Bioware would handle that in a satisfying way.

No, you're not alone in thinking that about Awakening. Its not a bad game, its quite decent, but compared to Origins it just felt rather hollow and lifeless.

Yeah, if one forgets everything that Origins did so well, it's very easy to enjoy Awakening. And since everyone was expecting something on par with the quality of Origins, the disappointment was obviously rather large.

But honestly, I wouldn't have played it 7 times if I didn't enjoy it at least a bit.

Giggle's minecraft thingy reminded me of my Sims 3 Leli...

Posted Image

I tried to combine her sacred ashes and in game look...although I didn't really like the way she came out and I haven't touched that save file in almost over a year now... the Sims 3 is a dangerous game for me... I truly lose sense of time when I play it.

Minecraft is too addictive.

Fun and so great but addictive.

I am very close to attempting a Mount St Lelianmore.

But then that would make me one of THOSE people.
