It does bother me though that in Origins she acts like the warden is the first elf she's ever gotten to know, but then we meet Sketch in the DLC who contradicts that convo...

I suppose it's more that Sketch isn't Dalish (so you may still be the first Dalish she meets) and he comes from the Tower, so he has never lived in an Alienage (at least that's what I assume).

Sketch was a mage first, and a nervous apostate second. Somewhere along the way he was also an elf.

I don't know if the events of LS are true or not. Truth be told, I think of it more of a story told to my City Elf character, as it incorporates elements of his life into the tale.

It's a fun DLC, though. Not as good as The Stone Prisoner, but pretty good, all the same.

Or maybe Sketch was raised by humans, or otherwise somehow knows little to nothing about elf culture.

Yeah, I think it can provide some interesting insights into her character, but, on the whole, I'm definitely inclined to agree with your way of looking at it.

EDIT:

Sketch is still an elf though. And, iirc, there's a line in the elf convo where she distinctly says shes only ever met a few elves and that they were all servants.

Just pretend Leli is attempting to make the story more exciting. :P

Well definitely the dragon that came out of nowhere before fighting Raleigh was a wtf moment and I would have been like "really Leliana? You're serious?" lol. Or her talking to Marjolaine at the very end, which I interpreted as an over-dramatization that probably never happened, but it sheds like on how Leliana might have imagined how the convo would have been like.

But in general, I tend to take it as canon. That Raleigh is real and that Marjolaine made a deal with him.

The dragon was mentioned before by Marjolaine. "Come, Commander Raleigh, let us see your little dragon." Turns out that wasn't a euphemism for his junk.

The guy may have been a monster, but he had a talent for domesticating savage beasts.

I didn't get the LS DLC because of how it contradicted what went on in Origins. Maybe if someone did a mod that had it set in Orlais I might bite on it IDK.

Well either way, at some point she's lying. Either its during the initial DAO conversation, or during LS.

I like LS though, its very clearly a proto-type for DA2. Framed narrative, VA'd protagonist who you couldn't choose etc.

lol yea. Makes sense, I thought that metaphore was a bit sub-par and too unsubtle, coming from a master bard.
Turns out she was being very literal.

Leliana's an Unreliable Narrator and trying to make the story more exciting.

It's similar to what Varric will do in DA2 as he tells the story to Cassandra.

I just imagined what would happen if both Leliana and Varric were narrating Hawke's tale. Poor Cassandra.

I expect to see her breaking Varric's fingers at some point. Do not be quick to pity the woman.

Leliana and Cassandra in the same room would make my head explode.

Slightly tangential, but I read a rumor on the DA2 boards that the actor who voiced Silas is going to be in DA2. He could be voicing a whole new character but perhaps we'll run into Silas as a templar in Kirkwall?

Though Sketch would have probably been my first choice to see again, even if he is a lie/retcon/figment of Leliana's bardic artistic liberty.

Varric: "And then Hawke tamed a high dragon and used it as a personal mount!"

Leliana: "No, that's not what I saw! Hawke found a rare unicorn and because of his gentleness , the unicorn agreed to be his companion"

Varric: "Wait wait, no I got it! Hawke tamed a dragon with one horn on its forehead, and white scales!"

Leliana: "With rainbow breathes! Yes!"

Cassandra *facepalm*

Sketch is a servant of sorts... isn't he? He might not directly go by the title but he certainly doesn't live an open independent life outside of serving Marjolaine.

But anyway I find the elf conversation (particularly if the warden is Dalish) very heartwarming. Because even though Leliana might have been raised on false pretenses, and says the wrong things, she seems genuinely interested to learn about the elves/Dalish, in quite a few points of the game.

Oh, I always loved it how Leliana kept a Dalish song so dear to her for so long...

I heard that rumour as well. Perhaps it will be Silas … but he could just as easily voice another character.

I would be good with a return of Silas. Or Sketch.

I'd rather have it be Silas. Despte his short screentime, I found myself very interested in his character. I just don't like seeing potential go to waste. Same with Sketch.

Silas was one of my favourite DLC characters- I love how he dealt with Raleigh if you left it up to him. So was Ariane from WH actually (probably due to a complete and utter lack of warrior women companiosn through the whole damn game).

He had the best scene that involved executing Raleigh. I chose that option the first time I went through it; I'm a great believer in allowing others to take their revenge on the ones who wronged them, to the point where I will hold back in boss fights to let another character take the killing blow if they have a vendetta against that boss.

Well given the rape and torture, technically it was Leli's life to take too...but I wanted to see what would happen if you left it up to Silas. Very satisfying.
