That's my point. The only reason to do it would be for fanservice, so she would probably have romance specific dialog.  There is no other point to do it other then to satisfy people like us.  

But maybe I'm too much of an optimistic for hoping good things can happen. 

Agreed.  Fans aren't going to be satisfied with the service if it's not done well.

I'll be an optimist with you, Leni. Defensive pessimism is probably the safer route, but not quite as fun. So I choose to hope good things will happen with the cameo rather than assume it's going to be bad by default. 

At this point, there's no real evidence to indicate one way or the other, but I have faith in the writers. And for a few reasons, I actually think a Leliana cameo in Kirkwall has the potential to be consistent with her character and make for interesting storytelling beyond just pure fanservice for the sake of it.

There could be potential for something interesting in there (other than chasing subterranean bunny pigs... )...

I'll admit that I'm more paranoid in this case because it's Leliana and because I don't want my happy ending from Origins to be ruined. If we were talking about another character I'd be much more interested in discussing the details but... well, I'm just plain fearful.

Hahaha now I'm really paranoid and when I'm playing DA2 running through Kirkwall I'll be looking at the faces of every red headed woman I see. I have a feeling Leliana will be there to give said "gift" to Hawke for Sebastian. Or give info on Sebastian... and or when you have Sebastian in your party you can talk to her and she talks with Sebastian.
As long as she says something about the Origins Warden all is good. And if the horrible happens with her saying that the Warden and her called it off then I'll ignore that bad plot point and continue with my story. That would be the first time I would ignore Dragon Age lore/canon though it would be pretty hard.

Hey, chasing after Schmooples is what I had in mind to keep the warden momentarily occupied. Hopefully Leliana herself will be up to something far more important and intriguing (if less amusing) than that.

I can definitely empathize. How the warden fits into it is worrisome and part of me does wonder whether I'm giving Bioware too much of a benefit of the doubt by assuming they'll handle that with care. I'll be upset if they screw it up, and I honestly would have been happy never having heard from the warden or Leliana again.

However, since a cameo seems highly likely to happen anyhow...I just...I can't help but to look forward to it.

While I'm trying to prepare myself for the possibility that it will turn out be largely pointless and strongly suspect my imagination is making it out to be bigger than what it will be....at the same time I feel like there are so many positive possibilities for the cameo too.

Not to mention I can't wait to hear more from Corinne Kempa. Her voice alone has the power to make any cameo awesome.

Well Zevran has been confirmed as there is a screenshot of a conversation wheel talking about him being "Captured" Ala this- Spoilers- SPOILERS So if Zevran is in DA2 and was in the Demo credits along with Steve Valentine (Voice of Alistair) then that means Alistair will be in DA2 as well.
If Corrine is in the Credits plus with that little DLC code there then Leliana is in DA2 but her IMDB profile labels her as "Additional voices" only so *shrugs*

Captured!? That's...interesting. I don't know what to think about that. I'm kind of hesitant to click on the link.

Pretty much everyone is listed as "Additional voices" only at the moment on the DA2 IMDB page, including Zev's voice actor. I think it's safe to assume that Leliana will be in the game anyway even if it's not specified there quite yet.

Cassandra's involvement definitely raises the intriguing factor a lot. And based on that screenie I think they did a great job in making her look as close as possible to what she looked like in Origins.

And you're right. DA2 forums are getting packed with spoilers. I'm not really even sure I wanted to see the cameo pics. But at least the disappointment won't be as big now if Leli's cameo turns out to be crap. My main concern is that she's going to be a bit too... chantry.

I know it can work with the hardened personality (Seekers are clearly less pacifistic than clergy). The relationship might get a mention at the very least, but the less lines she has (I think she's going to have maybe 4-5 lines at the very most), the less likely it's going to be mentioned.

That very same thought was mentioned by wicked a few days ago. That would certainly make sense and if it works like that, I don't think I will mind at all.

And I have thought about it, and I find it rather doubtful that the relationship will be acknowledged because there's really no reason why she should mention that to Hawke. Unless of couse Hawke has the option to flirt with her and she turns him down because she's already in a relationship... that would be neat.

If the Empress doesn't care about the treason charges that I assume are still in place for Leliana, then maybe. Though I think that might be a bit of a stretch. I'd be surprised if Celene didn't already have her own loyal Orlesian spies amongst the Seekers in place for quite a long time.


@Zjar - I know. x) I surprised myself too. Apparently I'd rather torture myself with anticipation in hopes that it will make the first time I see her in the game that much more awesome.

That could work if she was hardened. Not so sure about unhardened Lels.

It's an intriguing possibility for sure, but again, I feel like it would work best on hardened Leliana.

That's why I hope the import wil make a difference on the cameo... hope.... yeah, someone should post the Eomer pic.

Be satisfied in the knowledge that out of all the redesigned old characters, Leli looks the best and closest to the original.
