Meh, it wasn't even a choice really, they chose to defile the ashes, not actually kill her.

And really, death animations can't be taken too seriously either (if that's what one would complain about). Ser Cauthrien has been known to get her head back in Origins...

It depends on how the whole thing developed from DAO (OK, DAA) to DA2 Act III. We really don't know what happened between then. Maybe it could work, maybe it requires a few undesirable retcons.

I understand that it may be a bit OOC for some storylines for the Warden to just vanish and Leliana to be the "Darth Vader" to the Divine Justinia V's "Emperor Palpatine" afterwards - I'm sure that Leliana would accompany the Warden on his Calling and die by his side if the two were in a committed relationship, or perhaps the Warden would assist with Leliana's duties for the Chantry.


Although that possible reunion...

I wouldn't worry about the romance bug. Remember back in Awakening when the Origins romance was not recognized due to bugs? Then Bioware released a patch and the letters from LI's came in. If no such patch does come around then I guess those wanting the romance to continue will have to just import with DAO save.

I felt that the Leliana romance was underplayed, I mean she compliments me on being "sweet and attentive" but I can't kiss her in public? Getting the feeling that Bioware is biased towards Morrigan fans.

I think that last statement has come up a few times over the course of this thread. One such assertion came in regards to who the intended romance was supposed to be for each gender.

Going by the fact that Leliana seems to be working with Cassandra in DA2 and that David Gaider said we'll see more of Cassandra in the future, does anyone else hope we'll see Leliana again too?

Also, I really like how her face turned out with DA2 engine. The screenshots we saw prior to release had me worried, but now, imo, she actually looks better than in Origins.

I would think so, considering her role and the fact that she's Cassandra's superior. Not to mention that her death was retconned away. I don't think that was done just for pure fanservice.

We don't know if Leliana is Cassandra's superior. She certainly didn't act like she was. Cassandra definitely seems to call the punches in the final cutscne and I think Leliana might be of an equal rank to her and just less assertive.

Leliana's focus seems to be to find the Warden... while Cassandra seems more concentrated on Hawke.

I got the notion from that that Cassandra answered to Leliana, suggesting that Leliana was of higher rank.

But yeah, I think Leliana's far more interested in the Warden. Hopefully the motivations aren't one-size-fits-all (like the two have selective amnesia regarding their history), but we'll have to wait and see.
