I just saw Leliana at the end of DA2. Did I miss something? -.- I didn't get this scene:
*grumble* Is it part of the Exiled Prince or something?
annoying as I have no home internet connection and so miss out on this

Either a good friend or a lover... How d you think Leliana will take the Warden's eventually Calling to the Deep Roads?
I know the taint varies from book to games, etc...but I see as the years go past, the Warden obviously must struggle with that darkness gnawing inside of him/her
and to see someone you care for suffering like that....

With a Leliana romance in mind there must be a more considerate way for the warden to kill him/her self than the calling, doesn't offer much in the way of closure; but I imagine if she's just a friend she'd get over it considering her reaction in exiled prince, sounds like they lose contact without a relationship.

You assume they'd give her the chance.nerdage wrote...
Female prisoners, a female corpse is
no more useful to them than any other. Considering unhardened Leliana
almost kills herself if a lover dies to the archdemon (though I guess
that epilogue is up for interpretation), I could see her being
conflicted about it at least. Not that I'd recommend it, just
saying.
Let's be honest though, who would take that chance, after learning about broodmothers?
Well The Calling shows what happens if they don't go to The Calling. Then again, I don't know how much of it was due to the Archetict screwing with the taint progression.nerdage wrote...

I'm not saying it's a good idea, but I just can't see Leliana being happy just waving goodbye as the warden goes into the deep roads.GSSAGE7 wrote...

The only reason for the calling tradition is really just to kill yourself before the taint overwhelms you, the part about going to the deep roads is as much symbolic as it is practical. I'm not suggesting the warden try and ignore the taint, but there must be a more considerate way to kill yourself than disappearing alone into a cave full of monsters, something that leaves a body to bury at least.Well The Calling shows what happens if they don't go to The Calling. Then again, I don't know how much of it was due to the Archetict screwing with the taint progression.

Doesn't really matter, They see it as "If I'm going down I might as well take a few hundred or more darkspawn down with me." Seeing as most of Thedas (except Free Marches and Par Vollen) cremate their dead. In the same way Andraste was burned, in honor of her. It is the social norm and kinda expectancy to cremate a dead body. So why would they need the body? Just like with people who die who don't have a body to bury they bury their things. So Thedas probably would do the same thing but cremate it instead.
I would think Leliana on 1 hand would want to go with the warden to the end. Even though the epilogue has been proven to be false. I still think Leliana would commit suicide to be with the warden afterwards. The other part of me think that she would accept it, throw in some very long kisses and then wave goodbye. That or if the warden denies the calling. Leliana takes care of the warden as he/she descends into madness from the taint. Perhaps it would be like one of those horror/romance movies where a loved one is turned into something. (Vampire, zombie, werewolf... what have you.) And she keeps the warden alive but... pretty much just insane in their house or something. She loves him/her so much she just can't part with the body. (a bit weird but leliana is known for weird)

The weirdest thing is, that seems the most likely to me.SPARTAN 089-Gary wrote...That or if the warden denies the calling. Still, imagine when the warden find out it's his/her time. "Hey Leliana, is that a new song? I like it." "I wasn't singing." "Oh crap."

During the Calling....do Wardens actually hear the voices or is it just a dream thing? Well...dreams that drive you mad?

The wardens already hear the voices during their dreams. When they start hearing the voices while they are awake, they know the taint has progressed too much.Cypher0020 wrote...

I like the option of taking care of the warden....despite him/her eventually going mad from the taint in their body.
You like the idea of her watching everything she loves about the Warden slowly dwindling, replaced with agonising madness? Tainted survivors don't just go a little weird, or mentally unstable as we might understand it. They become blighted, feral monsters. Wardens are only different in that they don't succumb for decades, but the end remains the same. There'd be nothing left for Leliana to care for.
Sometimes it's better to let go, and remember someone as they were.
Right, well. That was sombre. Here's something cute, instead.

Assuming they didn't retcon a lot, Utha had her taint sped up until the point where her entire body was corrupted, and she still seemed sane in Awakening, which was at least 10-20 years after.bleetman wrote...

I'm at least hopeful Avernus is gonna sweat real hard and deliver a cure for Warden taint rather sooner than later. We know it's possible. Then it's goodbye Gray Wardens for my Ophelia. If the First Warden doesn't like that, he can go suck on a nug.

Schmooples? I doubt Leliana would approve but if it shuts it up.. Could invite Oghren over and make a dinner party of it.DrunkDeadman wrote...

Plus, if he's left alive, there's only a select few things he would be experimenting on. He would either be refining the Joining, delaying the Calling, or enhancing the Power of Blood powers.
