I enjoyed watching my character fall in love with Leliana(with the help of the Redesign mod) because it seemed so realistic and romantic.  Even when I wanted my character to go with Morrigan, I couldn't help but fall for Leliana again and it never got tiresome.  Plus, her accent is sooooo awesome!!!

But the Leliana's Song DLC dissapointed me quite a bit.  In DAO, she was a bard only in Orlais and had found her way to Fereldan, yet in the DLC, she was in/around Denerim the entire time.  Was it the fault of the developers for messing her story up?

I know I'm late to the discussion, but I would like to say that Leliana is one of my favorite characters in my gaming experience.

Earlier in the thread people mentioned music that reminded people of the romance between the warden and Leliana, this one reminds me of Leliana as a character.

Only thing is, now I'm expecting to see her in the next DLC, but if she's going to appear sooner than that I'm afraid she's going to spring out from under the bed or something. Anyway, good news.

How well do you think Leliana could exist in settings outside of Dragon Age? Tweak the backstory as necessary to fit the alternate setting, but still keep the core character and characteristics intact.

Interesting question... 

I don't know. Most of her traits can carry over if the setting is right. My biggest concern would be her faith. Take a real life setting for example, I can't really see her as a Christian/Catholic because of their views against s/s relations but that's the closest thing we have to Andrastianism in real life.

I would think that what ever setting she's in would have to have a faith for her to follow similar path to what the Chantry teaches other wise that faith aspect of her character would be lost.

Well, even in Origins she doesn't blindly follow the Chantry, questioning some of their beliefs. I could see her being a devout Christian (or anything that resembles Andrastianism) and still differ on many sensitive issues.
