Anime characters can be very pretty so I'm not sure why that resemblance alone is enough to say a mod is fail.
Don't get me wrong, they are pretty. My issue originally was him saying that vanilla Leliana was a "bad design".

The SA designs aren't for everyone I really like her with the SA hair, in fact I just really like the SA hair mesh in general. However I do firmly believe the original design can be topped and I've replaced her face morph pretty early on in my first playthough. The only companion design that is really excellent and cannot be improved in any way possible is the Alistair design. Here's an example of a non-sacred ashes Leliana that I think is better proportioned and toned than the original.
So much better than SA. Though, I see no reason to switch from the original.

Hey I actually like quite a few anime shows some of my friends introduced me to in high school. Its not that I find anime bad, some of it is so well done that it blows my mind, its that the way so many SA mods look make Leliana just stick out. Besides I cant mod the way Leliana looks since three other people are playing right now.

Since you guys are no doubt bored. If you haven't already, I highly recommend this series of machinima.
The voice acting is phenomenal. Enjoy.

Just to clarify since this is the internet and I can't communicate my tone I'm not pissed off or being rude I'm discussing. But I did breakdown feature by feature why I take issue with the original design, Dragon Age is designed to look realistic the characters are not cel shaded or cartooney like in TF2 therefore I think it is reasonable to judge them against reality. The Bioware Leliana morph if it's proportions were transferred from the game to a real person would be rather chilling since some of the those proportions are unnatural. Since it has failed a realism test I would contend that in a game, designed to be realistic looking though fantasy themed, it therefore follows that it is a bad design because it is not realistic looking. I don't take issue with you liking the design it has endearing features but realistic proportions and tone are not one of them.

Well, I still don't think it's a compelling argument. I find her vanilla face absolutely perfect and I don't think I'm going to change it just because it doesn't adhere to some silly "standards" of realism.
If you like it don't change it.
Personally, I prefer the SA look so I changed her to resemble her trailer version.
But the important thing is to stick with what you like best.

Download go to origins -> non-companions -> Install just the textures
go back to companions folder -> Leliana -> And then for that morph install the Leliana Version 11 (normal hair)

Realism isn't a set of "silly standards" it is a series of absolutes, look out the window that is realism. Dragon Age is trying to look like that, if it does not then it has failed the entire artistic vision it claims to adhere to. There are obvious technological limitations but that does not excuse designs that do not meet the game's true potential.

Absolute? Sounds dangerously like phrenology to me.

Not absolutes in terms of faces but humans tend to have a certain propotioned look, you don't really see people with extremely narrow faces and huge eyes it would be rather unnerving. As far as the brow comment, that derives from my own experince in the toolset I can what series of sliders were used to create that shape. I don't associate them with a character as kind as Leliana is in game Loghain has a similar look and he doesn't sing songs and cuddle nugs.

Also, if I play another character who romances Leliana and find myself thinking "Damn, come to think of it, she does look wierd", I'll come after you.

This looks more like a nitpick Liliana's appearance thread than an appreciation thread.
Well unfortunately Leliana and Zevran have weak designs, Bioware spent so much time on Alistair and Morrigan that the other LIs seem to have been a bit rushed. The topic came up and I merely stated my opinion on the vanilla design as clearly and intelligently as I could, I didn't just come in and say "She's not hot enought". There are quite a few people who hate the character because of the design, so I think it's relevant to have a discussion about the face design and how it represents the character. Leliana is my favourite character in the game but I firmly believe her vanilla design does her discredit and Bioware could have done a much better job.

You degrade the ones you love the most, until they lose all self esteem and rely on you for guidance in everything they do. That is true love.Jestina wrote...
