She was what the CGI artist used as a reference for the Sacred Ashes trailer. I haven't seen or read anything that confirmed Bioware was going to use her for the in game model as well. I'm glad they didn't I don't really find anything appealing about her.
I much prefer vanilla Leliana, there's something softer and more natural about her.
I have to disagree with the Vanilla Leliana appearing more natural. Of course yes her copper red hair is more natural then Alley Katze's Blood red. But her face in vanilla seemed... small. Her eyes appeared to small and her lips were to pursed. DAII fixed that majorly though.
Same thing with Morrigan's face they made her eyes too small for Vanilla. Vanilla Leliana has what I call a Tall face or long face if you want to go via "joke". While the Alley Katze Leliana seemed... more real looking (not just because she was modeled after a real person) but in proportions it was more... correct.
This is just my opinion, but I take a real human's face over a oddly made one. Perhaps its just the DAO engine that caused it because DAII looked leagues better (oddly enough she was pretty much the only cameo and character to look better in DAII.)
Sacred Ashes Leliana wasn't soft because she seemed "hardened" in that trailer. Plus she is modeled after a gothic/punk adult model who is entirely opposite of Leliana's character. But perhaps thats why I find AlleyKatze the pinnacle of beauty. Since she is beautiful but she has a poisonous bite. Which in a way is Leliana since she seems sweet but has a dark past where she did some insidious things.
And yet I find DalishRanger's style of Leliana better then Vanilla Leliana as well so I may be prejudice.
