Yes, that's true. A few days ago I started Awakening, and she send you a letter saying that she will tell me about it when we're back together.... lol... back together, the Warden and Leliana.

at what point do you receive this letter in awakening?

In that message, she foreshadows her role in DA2.

Well guys and gals with the newly announced DA3 what if Leliana was a romance option if she didn't romance our Wardens?

I'd like it. I do have some imports going where I didn't romance her so it could be fun to see how it differs this time, or to keep making advances when she did romance the warden just for the giggles.

Could be interesting if an unromanced Leliana ends up with Cassandra though, no reason she needs to wait around for PCs to come along. Probably be a lot of disappointed Cassandra fans, mind, but such is life, especially when it comes to who can/can't be romanced.

I bet she uses the caramel pudding line on everyone. I would.

I'm hoping that she'll return just as a major npc or a temporary follower since she's already had her time as a love interest and companion. Even if they make her a full companion, I'm at least hoping they shut her out of a romance, either with the PC or another companion. I noticed that romances rarely seem to import well in these games whether it's Morrigan in Witch Hunt, or Zevran & Leliana in both Awakening and Dragon Age 2. ( Though, they did fix Leliana's import bug in Dragon age 2 & Morrigan's in Witch hunt.) In other words I don't want to risk seeing my Warden's lover with another due to a lazy bug *Cough* Zevran *Cough*.

I wouldn't hope they avoid using import data just in case it's bugged, better they just make sure it works first time . Laidlaw did mention something a while ago about sorting out the imports going forward, and until he says otherwise I'll assume that's still the plan... unless he just meant future imports, in which case blegh.

I'm not sure what role she'll play in DA3. She's all but guaranteed to be there, but whether she's a party member or an NPC, I have no idea.

I don't like the idea and I personally ship her with the Divine in all non-romanced/dead warden play throughs.

I disagree that it would definitely seem stale. Even if she's fundamentally the same person she's a decade older, the situation's different, and the PC is different (and has a voice now), the only reason it would be stale is if they were lazy about it; at least for DAO characters, I'd agree with him for DA2 characters.

But if that's his stance I won't tilt at windmills... any more. So long as they do something good with Leliana, that she's not a romance again is neither here nor there.

I agree that David's "it would be stale" excuse is wrong and the response I would have expected from him. It's mostly his way of saying "we don't want to think of ways it would be different so we wouldn't bother."

Honestly writing a new romance would be far easier then morphing an old one into the new circumstances and he should have just said that.

I didn't want Leliana to be in DA3 as a romance anyway but yeah.  I'm more concerned about them explaining how she can rise from the dead and giving her proper screen time since she's in an important position for the chantry.

I fully agree with him on the matter that it's only going to aggravate people who romanced her if they open the option with a different PC. It's best to just lock Leliana out completely and have her only mention the Warden. Maybe an off screen reunion if the epilogue slides come back if he/she is still kicking.

I think before we do that - we should see what part - if any- she has in DA 3 - just mentioning
and let's face it...  not much to be said -  maybe we could do weekly - bi-weekly/  or monthly prompts ??
I am sure there are lots of stories yet to be told...  comments?

When my Warden, Camellia Tabris gave an Andraste's Grace to Leliana, she asked her to give a kiss as a reward. Leliana agreed while saying with her cute voice "a little one".

I really loved that moment and I treasured it by asking Archristol to make a picture of that on deviantart. This is the result of it. I hope you guys enjoy the picture. I don't mind you sharing or using it in any way.
