Yeah it's pretty cool, the Alistair thread is pissed off since they hate Leliana's guts but that's to be expected. I'm interested for the first time since they announced Awakening.

:crying: I don't hate Leliana and I yak in that thread all the time. She's cute, loves shoes, is cute...good with a bow and arrow, has an adorable smile....and have I mentioned she was cute?

I've been in Ali's thread for some time now...  and I certainly don't hate her...  I think most of Alistairs fans (including myself) appreciate most of the NPCs..   in fact.. I made Katt Cousland specificaly for the Ser Gilmore download..
This is such a rich game, and BioWare gave us such nice toys to work with (toolset, the ability to mod, storylines that can go forward and backward...  not a whole lot of games do that.Posted Image

But whatever, I'm pumped for this DLC.  More Leliana is always a good thing!  *crosses fingers for Morrigan next!*

Puny DLC is insufficient for Morrigan! She needs a full sequel, BWAHAHA!:o

Say her name in there a few times, you'll find out soon enough. They are on their best behaviour today, which is appreciated, but you can tell they hate that she got DLC.

Yeah it's really no secret.  Ever since she was paired with Alistair in DS Chronicles... even posting a picture of those two together in there will set off internet rage.

But whatever, I'm pumped for this DLC.  More Leliana is always a good thing!  *crosses fingers for Morrigan next!*

Now that would be something..  because it's a mystery to me even after finishing the game several times, just what the heck is their relationship?

That's cause I was shipping for Alistair/Morrigan in the DLC, and I kinda like Zevran/Leliana after reading some kink stories; anyways I was more pissed at Alistair then Leliana but hey I was glad they found happiness for a short time

www.fanfiction.net/s/5958950/1/The_Untaken_Path A very sweet and sad Alistair/Leliana one shot.

And generalizing is bad

I am happy that they are making character- and story-oriented DLC, and happy for you all that you get to play with a character you like.  I find Leliana gratingly annoying- I would play a DLC with any of the other companions but wouldn't enjoy this one.  So it's dispiriting to be without content I want to actually play since Awakening.  But I do hope it's good, for the sake of the franchise.

I think it's unfair to characterize the Alistair thread based on the opinion of a few of us.  There is a range of opinions about her among the regular posters.  And my opinion of Leliana has nothing to do with Alistair- I've had her as camp-sitter since my 3rd or 4th character and that was a long, long time ago.

I'd prefer a sequel withthe Warden and their LI in it just so the internet doesn't explode when the game comes out. Being a fan of Leliana is less difficult than being a fan of Morrigan since as long as neither the Warden or Leliana ever show up again they have a 'fairly' happy ending at the end of Awakening. Honestly this DLC won't tie up either Leliana's or The Warden's story it's just an interesting bit of story that allows you to get further insight into a character. Who knows though maybe it will suck and ruin Leliana forever.

Well I would not characterize you as one of them, you've clearly shown a moderate and sensible opinion that tends to be lacking on the internet. However groups are not judged based on their best members they are judged based on their worst members.

You flatter me and I appreciate it, but in this case it's not deserved.  I really hate Leliana.  LOL  I do make an effort of late to moderate that for the sake of others who come to gush about Alistair and don't want to see a favorite character trashed, even in harmless fun.

But really and truly, I'm glad there's a DLC that at least does not scream epic stupid like DSC did.

I think this DLC is a good idea, though a bit...useless? What I mean by that is that it just seems for its own sake and is not designed to expand upon Leliana's story, rather just explain what we already know.

But still, it's story oriented which is always good. And Leliana is definately an interesting character with a rich past.
EDIT: ugh typos. Too tired.

I have, disliking a character is not the problem nobody can be expected to like everything in the world. The difference is how you conduct yourself, some conduct themselves in a half respectable way stating dislike and being able to move along. Others prefer to degenerate into a complaning diatrive and create an enviroment of open hostility and pathological hatred. Frankly I got bored of garbage like that when I graduated Highschool.

Ugh, why?  They hate each other... and not in a flirty, sexual tension building kind of way, they just genuinely hate each other.

I agree, we already know the basic outline of how the story goes down. However it at least appears to be story based and after hitting rock bottom with Darkspawn Chronicles, anything that even remotely appears to be moving in the proper direction is a welcome relief. At the very least it will hopefully flesh out a few things that aren't really clear in Origins. What exactly is the relationship between Leliana and Marjolaine? We really only see it through Leliana's rose coloured glasses I mean we don't even really know if it had a sexual dimension or if it was more mentor and apprentice with any romantic feelings being on Leliana's half alone. Also we finally get to see exactly what she meant by the "Terrible Things" the Orlesian guards did to her when she was captured. Was she beaten and tortured or was she raped?

Yeah, I'm looking forward to finally getting some answers in that regard as well.

It does make me wonder  just how much input we'll have as players however.  I mean her story should be fairly set in stone... are we going to be able to actually decide how her origin plays out?

@ Axe. Yep that's another concern. I doubt we will have choices, and even if we do, they will be compeltely irrelevent.

I still think it's going to the right direction don't get mewrong. But it just seems for its own sake and has no consequence to Origins and our story.

That's the big question I have as well, I wonder if it's going to be sorta like if you character isn't a mage and you have to send an NPC into the fade. You can choose a tone, or a dumbed down statement sorta like Mass Effect and then the character says the long version. I would have to imagine some of the pivitol conversations would be cutscenes where you just watch, since the outcome is already known Leliana escapes and flees Orlais winding up in Lothering.

Maybe we'll be able to make some decisions that will build her basic character...  and maybe she will be in Awakenings fleshing out that character based on what we decided..  which would put this DLC in Orlais and Awakenings..  hmmmmm
