What is Serious Sam?Giggles_Manically wrote...
Does the in game screenshot work well, or do most people use fraps?
I downloaded it last night and have been playing it with Serious Sam, which is amazing.
Serious Sam First Encounter HD - it is the most amazingly fun FPS ever, little plot, no talking, straight into the action. Dozens of unique enemies and weapons, all in stunning HD scenery. If you ever just want to relieve stress in a game this is so much fun. Just mowing down hundreds of foes on screen at once is so hectic and amazing all with Heavy Metal in the background. And it is under 20 dollars at most places too, everyone should play it if they have a PC.

For me in-game screenshots came out dark and the game jerked for a second when I hit the print screen button. I got fraps for Mass Effect and was in the habit of hitting a diffferent button by the time I went back to DAO. I then noticed what a remarkable difference there was between the shots. I was pleased enough with the program that I went ahead and bought the full version. Probably one of my best gaming investment -- can't believe I didn't download it sooner!Giggles_Manically wrote...

BTW, how do you people RP her barding skills?
I mean do you actually RP it that she is singing in the middle of battle?
I personally RP it as her saying stuff like "The rightheous stand before the darkness, and the Maker shall guide their hand" like in the trailer in a melodic tone, to inspire the rest of the companions (or make Morrigan angry and thus more efficient).

I tend to think of it as some sort of a song she's carrying interwoven between actions and guiding her with its rhythm. The act of at least entering the battle with a song is something that'd actually happen in that time period - http://en.wikipedia....iki/Bogurodzica and well, pretty much any combat sequence we get to see in movies nowadays *is* associated with a suitable music, often with vocals, so it's not that much of mental stretch to replace it with a 'real' song.KnightofPhoenix wrote...

edit: something along these lines:

"You are my dearest friend and my love; you lit my path through darkness and I will stand with you, to whatever end. This day, we will forge a legend of our own."
or
"You are my Grey Warden, and our savior. Win this war for us my love and... come home."

Actually, I take a bit of creative license with it. Instead of taking her bard skills as literal war cries, I imagine her story telling/singing in camp, and as we travel, boosts the party's morale overall. She's kind of like the group's source of entertainment during our down time. The actual bard song buffs are just the manifestation of that imo.KnightofPhoenix wrote...

Leliana's faith isn't crushed. All hardening her does is make her more willing to embrace her enjoyment of certain aspects of the bardic lifestyle she continues to utilize such as the thrill of the hunt. You're basically just telling her to stop pretending to be someone she's not and she is still a very devout (and not happy about defiling the ashes) woman.I usually leave her how she is because of the dialogue options I start feeling bad crushing her faith and what not, but then again she really has different ideas than what the Chantry teaches.

I'm curious (since I've never hardened her) how does the convo go about the ashes if you defile them when she's hardened?Sarah1281 wrote...

If she is at camp you can intimidate her into staying, but she never really talks to you again. IIRC.

You can talk her down if she is hardened and there but it does involve intimidating her. If she's at camp you can just lie to her like you can lie to Shale about Caridin.Axekix wrote...

Yeah I know, I just don't like the idea of intimidating her.Giggles_Manically wrote...
Well yeah, you are practically taking a weewee on the piece of the true cross, the original Guttenberg bible, and the shroud of turin. Then drinking American Beer out of the holy grail, what do you think a normal person would do?
Ah. Oh well. Since unlocking Reaver I haven't had much reason to defile the ashes so it won't be a problem anyway.Sarah1281 wrote...

Well, Oghren - like most companions - will try to leave if you get him to -100 but other than that, no. Sten though...have you never taken him to Haven before he loved you?Giggles_Manically wrote...
Sten never has one of those points for an action, besides giving him the boot, and neither does Oghern or DOg. But yeah the Reason i like DA over Mass Effect is that outside of Wrex all your companions follow you unquestionly and blindly.

Sten kind of does if you count his attack at Haven. I mean he'll actually kill you if you lose the duel. And I think both him and Ohgren will leave if you get their approval low enough.Giggles_Manically wrote...

When you agree to work for Harrowmont and then approach Vartag about working for Bhelen afterwards. Wynne and Shale will also object.Giggles_Manically wrote...
Sten gets angry at you playing double agent where?
PC: "I need to talk to Bhelen."
Vartag: "Well, you have an unusual way of showing it. Why would the prince possibly meet with someone who came out publicly against him?" (VO: scornful)
PC: "And now Harrowmont trusts me. Unlike your other spies."
Sten: "There are not enough of you for all the alliances you make." (VO: disapproving)
PC: "I don't know enough about either to make a decision."
Sten:"Then choosing one is the same as choosing the other. What matters is having the courage to make the choice." (VO: sanctimonious)
Sten: "You will have to choose eventually." (VO: stern)
PC: "Isn't it obvious I've chosen to serve Bhelen?"
(passed persuade) Sten: "Obvious? Hmph." (VO: uncertain)
(failed persuade) Sten: "All that is obvious is that you're acting like a coward." (VO: sanctimonious)
PC: "Then I'm a coward. Now shut up."
(IF:Shale in party) Shale: "And it was picked to be a Grey Warden... why?" (VO: rolling her eyes, sarcastic)
Sten: "Have it your way." (VO: backing down)
