So that means the moderators are like the Grey Wardens then. All hail D. Gaider the one last hope of the Threadas!

I wouldn't go that far, I doubt Bioware's head writer for DA goes in to ban insolent fools in stupid threads. He's much too busy making myopic comments and expressing his contempt for fans.

True but then again he is shot at by the Morri fans 24/7

Tough S*** He made himself the face for the game, you get the bad and the good when you do that.

It does make one wonder if David Gaider truly holds fans in low regard or simply enjoys making comments that ****** off anyone without a sense of humor.

Well at least Leliana is the sort of person you'll go for comfort. Wynne may be a candidate for that, but her sermons and holier-than-thou attitude towards teenagers makes me stay clear from her. If I do let her live in the tower, it's because Leliana is with me and convinces me not to attack her.

We need to keep going I want to hit a hundred pages before next week is over!

D. Gaider writes really well but responds nastily when critized in some of the other forums. Especailly to the whole Slap Morrigan mod.

To me he very much seems like the kind of developers who don't have the charisma or force of personality to deal with the public, but they put themselves out there regardless. In the end they just screw themselves and their company over by being ****s, PR firms exist for a reason.

Anyone who thought the video that poster was spamming constantly was hillarious deserved the verbal beatdown he gave them. You aren't three, act like it.

Eh, I don't think it's either of those. He's a guy that if someone talks down to him, he talks down to you right back. People get so offended at that when dealing with 'The Company', but that's really on them, not him. I worked in both food service and working phones for a company while going through college, so I have absolutely no pity when it comes to customers and the belief that they get a free pass no matter what. Decency and respect needs to be there at the beginning before you can expect it returned, and many on the forums barely act human, much less like decent ones.

You can like Gaider one post and hate him the next, but I enjoy the fact that he doesn't pull any punches. After watching Blizzard tip-toe for years with the 'yes ma'am's' and 'no sirs' trying to keep everyone happy and civil without ever really answering anything, I'll take a simple no or that's something we don't want to do.

Sometimes you can dig it, sometimes you just think it's rude. 'Tis life.

Oh I know epoch.
He's been...active on some of the other threads I've posted on.
Thanks for the welcome btw.

Oh don't be shy. Tell us what you really think of Epoch. It's not as if he could murder you or anything...

Honestly he seems arrogant at times.
Throw in the occasional douche moments and you've got the worst parts of his persona.

He has his good moments as well, they're just not as frequent.

That's pretty accurate.

First time stepping out of the other part of BSN...'Tis strange. Posting here to show my support for Leliana. Usually romance her, if I'm not in a relationship with Zevran.

Sounds like a decent fellow. This innate belief that the customer is always right always pisses me off

I disagree there is not one single good reason for him to go down into the forums and fight in the mud with the other pigs. Other developers have done that and it's never turned out well, Denis Dyack at Silicone Knights went right into NeoGaf forums to fight people who picked on his game. Julian Eggebrecht from Factor 5 blamed the players for Lair's poor reception and then proceeded to try and garner sympathy by telling anyone who would listen about Lair's "cursed" development. The fact of the matter is you cannot in this day and age talk straight to the public, they're too stupid and ignorant to understand it anyway. Nothing can ever be gained, it's a game in which at best you lose nothing and at worst you hurt yourself and those around you. In the military they don't even let enlisted and non-coms talk to the press without media relations officers being informed. Bioware's openess with the community might be commendable but has it really helped them in any way as a company, people don't appreciate it so why do they continue to put themselves at risk? In the end everyone would be much happier with a unifed PR system, with clear unity of purpose. There would not be the level of confusion about DA2 that currently exists since you wouldn't have their lead writer out there making comments that in the grand scheme of things have nothing to do with the goals of the franchise.

Was it you who was going to ask one of the modders to create a new young leliana face? Did you follow through with that?

Yeah, I talked to Dracomies who does the Dragon Age Redesigned project. He's super excited for the DLC and he's planning on releasing morphs for it once he gets a good look at the characters in the game.

Edit: I should add that on release day I'll try to figure out the .mor naming process for the DLC so that at the very least you can use your preferred Leliana .mor until we dream up something better. It's clear they are using a different .mor for young Leliana, so any replacement will not carry over but If you know the naming process it shouldn't be too hard to create a copy with the proper name. If all else fails the .mor savegame replacement process will work.
