An Unkind Fate

A short story dealing with what would have happened if Alistair and F!Cousland had lost the duel with Loghain.  Very dark and sad.  Rated M. Complete.

I never understood the whole, "Don't acknowledge Alistair," thing. When it became clear he was never going to have another son, a prudent person would have legitimized the bastard as the spare heir he needed.

I liked your AU story.  Little Al was adorable.

I get the feeling you're wallowing in Alistair grief a bit at the moment Lady D. Go and do a Cousland Queen ending, or a running off to rebuild the wardens ending or something .

Without the alternate ending, it's still very bittersweet. Poor little Alistair.

EDIT: Ok, the sobbing has subsided. That really was wonderful, my poor little Alistair finally has his dad. And double yay for Teagan telling on that lousy Eamon!!

Loved Ch 4, too! Sexy King Ali taking no sh*t from Elemena, nice!  And the "But won't that…be messy" paragraph at the end...
