I have seen the post regarding rotation, but I wasn't sure if it applies to my problem

When I key the cam in several diff positions on the timeline, if I go back and edit the first or second key to another position, the cam starts to rotate 360 degrees from key to key. What am I doing wrong? I tried to manually set the yaw, but it wouldnt accept.

what do I do? ---getting dizzy :crying:

EDIT: I fixed it buy entering the curve editor and all of a sudden seeing the yaw completely warped. Straightening it out seems to work, but if anyone knows what causes this, it would be good if I can avoid it. Thanks

IIRC the Toolset tries to automatically keep values of your keyframes in -180+180 degree range. So if you have one keyframe with angle of say 175 and then another with 185 then the 185 gets converted to (185-360 = -175) causing almost full rotation.

Solution is to manually select your keyframe on the timeline and punch the desired number i.e. 185 It will then stay the way you want it. It won't work if you try to enter the angle just in the object's inspector panel because that value gets converted by the Toolset.

Thank you tmp. I saw that post on the board..just couldn't understand it. --now I think I get it a bit better after understanding that it is not enough to enter it in the object inspector.

you are a hero on many levels ;)

Thanks for this, tmp7704, as I just started fighting this very problem. The camera would make almost the 270-degree swing I wanted, getting to about 220 before heading all the way back the other way and ending up where I wanted it. Because the "view" is of a character looking at a room, it didn't look bad (he was turning his head back and forth anyway), but it was very, very frustrating...
