Hey guys, I found this really odd. I was at Redcliffe castle and ran into jowan (grr), and morrigan was actually commenting towards freeing him rather than being apathetic toward human life/spiteful of merciful actions (in fact, the only reason released the **** and told him to run away was to get morrigan's approval rating up. But still, it strikes me as odd that morrigan would act that way. Any ideas? did jowan summon a spirit that made her do that or something ? >.> or is it more that she'd rather like other apostates running around the ferelden?

Morrigan hates CoM and any mage who runs away gets respect to a some degree from her. At least so i think

It's not really out of character for her. Remember, she's an apostate herself and sneers at the Chantry control of magic. Living in the woods as she does, she also respects a creature's right to freedom. If you'll recall, she also supported freeing Sten. What annoys her is nice things which require effort. Nice things which require no effort, she may support or be ambivalent towards, depending on the specifics.

She is an Apostate herself, so she wants you to aid any like her.

Morrigan views the Circle of Magi like a prison. From what I've gathered from her, freedom is an ideal that pleases her. And since you're freeing a captured mage, you're upholding Morrigan's belief of freedom.
Morrigan also likes it when you ask for her opinions on things and give her a -freedom- of choice.
