I'll break it down for you this time so maybe, just maybe, you might actually READ IT before you start rambling again..

Branji wrote...

Nice to see all the fanboys posting.

Sorry. No 'fanboys' here.

Pay attention:

After 7 months of Bioware claiming to be "working on it" all they have fixed is three bugs. That should bother people. Modmakers fixed almost every bug quickly, but a large company with many developers has only been able to fix three bugs in 7 months. That's nothing to be happy about. Just 3 bugs in seven months. Think about it. That's the best they have done? Not acceptable.

Seriously, YOU should really pay attention. Repeating yourself after you've been proved wrong over and over isn't going to help anything. But again, you obviously missed it, so here's another shot at getting you to actually read:

"Keep watching for additional details. We’re packing a lot in this
update and have more to reveal!
"

"These fixes are driven by your feedback, and we will keep watching
the forums to find issues that we could resolve. What we've listed are
not the full patch contents
, but things we knew that you were most
concerned with
and wanted to let you know about.
"

I took the liberty of highlighting the important parts in bold to make it easier for you to read and comprehend. You're welcome.

There are more details on the way and this is just the first that he is revealing.. It just can't be stated any more plainly, so if you still don't understand, I am truly sorry..

Fans have been giving feedback for seven months. Bioware has supposedly read all that feedback yet has fixed so little.
And I don't care how many they are still working on. Can't you understand how silly it is for them to have done only do a fraction of the work some modmakers have done? Obviously you can't.

Can't you understand what was written and repeated for your benefit? Obviously you can't.

In any case, I've repeated it and quoted Victor again for you, since you obviously didn't read his entire post before you started rambling. Again, you're welcome.

@Victor: Many thanks for this great news! Keep us posted with details! :D

Thanks for the update - it is nice to know that there is some progress.

Can I also ask that Bioware consider this as well..

I'd like to highlight the following mod:

http://social.biowar...m/project/2563/

Qwinn's Fixpack is a comprehensive unofficial patch for Dragon Age on the PC, which fixes a large number of scripting issues, as well as bugs related to game mechanics and dialogue options.  There are absolutely no changes to gameplay, characters, etc., and the most substantial change is the restoration of the Jowan's Intention quest.  I think that, if it hasn't been checked out already, it would be worthwhile for you to investigate the fixes made, and consider incorporating them in the update - even if they aren't major issues, they contribute to the overall polish of the game.

Either way, the news is appreciated and I'm eager to finish up Awakening, since bugs had caused me to put it on hold less than a week after buying it.

I dont know if Bioware know of the X games by egosoft, but it is their practice of adding modder made 'fixes' and updates into their official patches after they have checked over them.
I doubt that it is ever as simple as that, but is it something that can at least be discussed by Bioware as a possiblity in an update?

Hopefully the "Vigilance / Sentinel Armor - other DLC appearance bug" will be addressed as well. Mostly my main reason why I haven't finished Awakening on 360 yet...

Better late than never, I suppose.

Just a shame it took this long for any real word on what to expect. Awakening came out in March, and it's now June, so just seems like a bit more communication would have been nice. Mind you, should be used to it by now.

We're working on putting some Awakening in the patch. Keep watching for more updates.

Thanks for communication and the update.

Victor, I hope you're prioritizing the Silverite Mines bug. To me it's the most serious DA:A bug issue. I'm not saying the others are unimportant. I'm saying that's probably the game's most devastating bug.

I understand if you can't say specifically if that will be in the patch or not, but I hope you will reveal soon what Awakening fixes this will contain, at some point.

Sounds good. Is there any kind of news on an Awakening patch?

First of all, thank you for the update. For those of us who play on the 360, Bioware is our only hope of a fix. I was glad to hear that you are working on patching Awakening as I had more problems with this expansion than with Origins.

Posting some of the problems that I had while playing the 360 console version:
DA:Origins:
Frozen characters: Wynne was frozen in position with her arm outstretched, as if holding a weapon/staff. Reloading a save seemed to fix it. Alistair frozen in a funny position with his head and one arm turned to the side. Reloading worked once. Changing armor worked because it seemed to happen when he was wearing the Templar armor.

Trapped enemies: During the Redcliffe night battle several of the enemies became trapped behind the building near the docks. Reloding worked to solve the problem most of the time.

DA:O Awakening:
Silverite Mines: There appeared to be 2 doors - one of them unlocked, allowing me to enter the mines before I was supposed to. Valena disappeared and I was unable to recruit her on my first (aborted) play through.
Unkillable Animated Dead: During the battle to save Amaranthine a frozen Animated Undead spawns. It does not fight and no matter how many attacks or spells used it's health does not decrease. Reloaded 3 times and each time the same thing occured. Fourth time I was able to get passed it, but I am not sure how.
Weapons/Armor:
Sentinel Armor not displaying correctly on my main character, with the exception of the helm, with Warden's Keep installed. It did display correctly on the dwarf character. I didn't test it on any others as I only played through 1 and 1/2 times. The Blackblade tunic did not display properly on my human noble female character. The chest area was all white.

Not bug-related, just wishful thinking:Image IPB
Please make the rest of the Blackblade armor available. I have heard varying rumors from 'it is a rare drop' to 'it is not in the game at all' (for console).
Please make the ceremonial gloves available for console users.

Edit: Also wanted to note that the kissing animations in Origins are off recently. It is hard to describe but it does not look right or the same as before, like one person is to far to the side. I noticed it happening in the main game after I installed Awakening. Other DLC I installed about the same time I noticed this was the Feast Day combo pack (also on the 360 console).

Thanks Victor I think we all needed some official feedback.

Any word on PC crashes and stability issues? Most of the posts I have read have ruled out audio as the cause of crashes and pointed to the game pushing GPUs and/or CPUs too hard - something I have had first had experience with.

Three confirmed fixed by QA, with others in testing, which modders don't have to do (we end users tend to be their QA team).

I would rather have a list of confirmed fixed bugs that will be in the patch than a list of bugs that have been fixed that might be in the patch; which would you prefer?

I guess my concern is that, in light of Bioware's obvious indifference to its Xbox using customers, this patch, once thrown together, will be the last support the 360 sees, regardless of future problems. The Xbox version of this game seems to be something of an albatross around Bioware's neck, a problem of such low priority that a remedy of the simplest of problems hasn't manifested since the game's release.

It's clearly too late for Bioware to make the case that the upcoming patch stems from sincere concern for the customer--it's a response to a wheel that has been squeaking for what, seven months now? It would be bad business, however, if future game reviews had to mention that the Dragon Age series never did run as intended on Xbox, though.

Anyway, history suggests that this patch, when it comes, may be the last whisper of corrective support Xbox users are going to see. So, I hope they test it thoroughly and solve as many problems as posssible. Heck, maybe they can cram a respec option in there, too (pretty much mandatory for an RPG of this depth and complexity). I hope they can fix this mess, and I'm not talking about the game. Stockholm Syndrome aside, the customers have been wronged in this business, and I'd rather see Bioware earn a strong, loyal clientele.

A new patch? Brilliant. I'll get ready to dust off my copy of the game. Too little too late really but I'll take it. There's still no way I'm buying the expansions. But thanks for the update

There's just no pleasing some people.  Image IPB

Victor said:  "The following items are just a small set of fixes that will be included in the update. We know that these are some of the most discussed issues, so we wanted to make sure you knew that they would resolved."

He listed three confirmed bugs fixed and that will be included in the patch AMONG others.  Learn to read, buddy!  He only listed the three most-discussed issues as among those being fixed.  The patch will address more issues and Victor will list them as they pass QA and are confirmed as being in the patch.

I think you like complaining just for the sake of complaining.  Even if Bioware hand-delivered a patch that fixes everything in DA and installed it on your PC, you'd still find something to complain about.  Get back on your meds and stop your whining!  Image IPB

You don't even have to go that far; Obsidian did womething similar with Neverwinter Nights 2, which I'm sure some of the Bioware folks knew about, since Bioware hosts the Official Neverwinter Nights 2 forums.

There are no "holes in my story". Bioware is doing a bad job patching. NOTHING said by Bioware contradicts what I have said. They have had 7 months of bug fixing but 3 bugs is all they fixed. I requested that they list every bug fixed (because one fan said they might have fixed many bugs). They still haven't. This is nothing more than the "working on it" they have been saying.

I'm just showing that after their supposed bug fixing for 7 months that they have done very little work.

No, all that poster was doing was repeating and emphasizing what Victor had posted.

They still haven't.

Why should they get someone's hopes up that a specific bug fix will make it into this patch if there is a possibiltiy that said fix will not make it into the patch?

I'm just showing that after their supposed bug fixing for 7 months that they have done very little work.

Do you work for Bioware? If not, then who are you to say how much work the patch team has been doing to fix these bugs?

Will you please allow us to view tooltip descriptions for all skills and abilities as well as to assign all skills and abilities via the Tactics window during gameplay?

BTW yes, very annoying. Almost every time when I set tactics I have to go to skills screen, memorize skills I don't remember, then go back to tactics screen. A lot on needless button pressing.

Good news. :-)

I hope this patch doesn't break the toolset install. :-) 103 didn't, but you never know... :-)

Also, I'd like to request a detailed changelog... with file names, if possible, but otherwise, as much detail as you can get.
Thanks :-)
