Hmph!
I suppose I can appreciate, at least, that you've mentioned the patch at all, rather than remaining silent on it. But that's not going to stop me from rabbling still! Rabble rabble rabble...
Keep watching for more details on the next update and sharing your thoughts!
"Humbug!" is my thought. Bah! Humbug!

probably because of all the self entitled prisses on here who complain every time everything is not 100% perfect. if they say something will be fixed and it isn't the prisses will start fainting and get all emo about it.TheMadCat wrote...
An update? Now that wasn't so hard was it.
Though what's with the marketing approach there, why not just give a generalized list of what's being worked on instead of the "More to come!" spiel like your trickling information about a product in order to generate hype? It's a patch, shouldn't be that big a deal.

Unlike the majority 1.03 didn't really break the game for me. What I hope this new patch would fix are the numerous bugs in Awakening as well.
Thanks for the update Bioware

Myself and everyone else will be very dissappointed if this isnt fixed this patch, given the length of time we've waited for it.

Users are not "fixing" it they are modding it! The DLC for DA:O's is meant for DA:O and not DA:A. You Purchase the DLC for use with DA:O to help you progress, these same items you buy very likely destroy any attempts to create a balanced game for DA:A.Bfler wrote...
There are since release of Awakening some mods which allow an import of the items from WK into Awakening. So when some user are able to fix that Bioware should also be able to fix it with a patch
What I have said I believe is what Bioware said in one of there announcements, I'm not a huge Bioware fan (though this announcement, if true may change that) so I don't pay enough attention to there announcements and can't recall the specific one I am trying to reference. Heck it could have been someone on the forum that said it and not Bioware and I'm just confused.

That said, the infamous Lothering boots better be fixed this time around.

However; I have to say that I'm disappointed that it takes so long to fix the crash to desktop issue on PC. For me an a lot of othe players it is not possible to play the game with patch 1.03. I still haven't been able to play Awakening.
As this is a gamebreaking bug, and the solution is to go back to the script in 1.02a, I was sure this problem would be fixed in maybe a week or two. That seems to be the normal time for other developers.
For the other bugs, I (like many others) hope you take a look at qwinns super fix-mod, and do the same changes in the patch. http://social.biowar...m/project/2563/
I also hope you will make it possible to take all items from the DLC's into Awakening. Again, there are mods on PC that let you do it, so why not copy these and make everyone happy?
But thanks again. Very good that you will update us.

So, are we to infer that BW has identified the PC sound cards as the source of the sudden (1.03) CtD issues? While I guess it's possible, (all of mine occur at points in the game when some sound effect *might* have been triggered) I wish Victor had been a little more explicit about what was meant.Victor Wachter wrote...

The following items are just a small set of fixes that will be included in the update. We know that these are some of the most discussed issues, so we wanted to make sure you knew that they would resolved...
• Updated audio drivers to fix a number of audio related crashes.
In my case, the CtD problem was fixed (no longer occurred every time there was a combat spell/auto-save/area transition event) by using the FO3 "Large Memory Area Flag" edit to the daorigins.exe file header. If *my* CtDs were sound-card related, how would this have helped?!?

I wish BioWare would incorporate some of the community fixes. It seems like a no-brainer to me. All they have to do is test them to make sure they work. Here's a perfect example: http://social.biowar...m/project/2335/. The creator figured out exactly how BioWare screwed up stealing and Dog in 1.03 and fixed it.
My biggest hope is that they fix all the problems 1.03 caused for 64-bit PC's. If this game continues to lag after the next bug patch I will have lost all my faith in this company. It won't matter how well reviewed their new Star Wars MMORPG becomes, I'll never spend a penny on it if they don't fix this game first.

This was my thoughts as well since my crashes were remedied by using the one core fix, making me skeptical of crashes being audio related.

Victor: Please provide us with a list of all bugfixes that have passed QA (that is, bugfixes that are already confirmed to be in the patch). If all you have for us is those three, then color me flabbergasted.<_<
Someone previously linked to this but I'm going to do it again: http://social.biowar...m/project/2563/
Qwinn's unofficial fixpack fixes almost a hundred bugs, restores the functionality of Stealing and Dog finding, and seals about a dozen infinite EXP and infinite Approval exploits. And it was released in April. And updated two weeks ago. And one guy made it. Hire him or something.
On a personal note, I use Shale in all of my parties, and 1.03 made his Rock Barrage ability literally do nothing. I hope that's a high priority fix, Victor? Shale doesn't have that many abilities, having one of them not work makes her sad.

I must have fallen asleep at the wheel.
Where it says (June 4, 2010) in the title, I thought that was the release date for the patch. Not the date of the post.
Will have to keep watching, to see when they announce the release date.
Thanx for the clarification.

I just little disappointed about the non-enchanted daggers when doing rouge. Where I have to put points on strength (16) whilst I have high dexterity (24) and cunning (20) at my level 9 character to make those daggers worth my while.
But over-all performance of the game I'm happy with it.

Doesn't anybody know how to read English anymore? Victor has said that he only listed 3 of the most-discussed issues which are confirmed as being in the patch release. These 3 are only a small subset of the total number of bugs being included in the patch.

Well, Qwinn did a great job of the fixpatch, yes, but he did not release it to XBox, PS3 or GameCube. Someone has to do the translation to the consoles and then the followup testing, then it has to get passed by Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo before they allow it on their platforms as a patch release. That is what takes **months** to get done. It is a form of software bureaucracy that cannot be avoided.

With this patch coming, will this work on Origin or do you have to have Awakening for this patch to work?

The latest patch always includes updates from previous patches so patch 1.04 will include everything in patch 1.02 and 1.03 and prior to that. It won't matter which base game you have installed whether it be Origins or Awakening.

Hopefully the end game and epilogue are one of those top priority issues. I killed Alistair so the bugger better stay dead!
