I recently ordered both Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2 from Amazon.  I received the normal, North American version of Mass Effect 2, but received an odd EA Value games European version of Mass Effect 1.  Can the saves fromt this version be imported into Mass Effect 2?  I'd like to know before I open it, so I can return it if the saves can't be imported and I will just buy the Steam version.

This is the PC version.

Yes you can.

I bought my Mass Effect 1 Game here in Germany as a value edition (with Bring Down the Sky) and I can import my saves from ME1 perfectly into ME2 (both set to english as language).

There's no difference between ME2 NA or ME2 EU, the locales may be a bit different, but that's it. Savegames are 100% compatible.

Yep! In fact that's the situation I have, I bought ME1 through Steam then preordered the physical collectors' edition of ME2.

In my case ME1 from Steam and ME2 from EA Store, works fine with importing savegames.
