Heavy lasts much longer compared to Wide
though the description says otherwise (9 vs 7 s hold duration). My
experience with both is quite simple. I'm used to play without a squad
and when using Wide to trap protected enemies I didn't had enough time
to strip defenses (using guns) and warp them the moment they're
ragdolled. Heavy lasts up to twice as long, making it much easier to
warp and (more importantly) to keep powerful foes at bay (like Harby,
Krogan and Scions). I never really missed the extra radius.

I never ever use Wide anymore. I go for Heavy or just leave Singularity at lvl 3 so there're 4 points to spend on other powers.

Heavy Singularity will hold more targets for longer, or a single target for longer. When I retrained to Heavy Singularity, I did actually have a better experience with it. On the Derelict Reaper mission, a Wide Singularity just wasn't getting the job done even though it had a wider radius. The husks tend to stay bunched together, so radius isn't an issue. And there are swarms of them, so you want Heavy Singularity to hold more targets.
Actually realized I never needed the wider radius. I was either tossing a Singularity at enemies that were already bunched together or using it on a choke point where they weren't going to spread out.

The only time I can ever really think of where the extra radii would have mattered was that end section of Stolen Memory, where squads of Eclipse keep coming up the lifts and an Adept can time it just right so that a singularity can end up nulling the team.. but even then, it can't carry all of them due to the limit on Wide Singularity (and it just gets used for Warp Explosion anyway).

I think I'm going to give Heavy Singularity a whirl on this playthrough. It sounds, bizarrely, similar in it's application as Attack Drone, holding targets still and damaging them, no matter their defences. since Pull Field is now my preferred crowd controller/ Warp primer, it seems logical.
