Hey you guys , i just got Dragon Age , but there's a problem : the frame rate is quite crapy , i mean i can play with no probs , but i want to run as smooth as possible.
My pc hardware : Intel core 2 duo 3 ghz , Geforce 9600 gt 512 ram (256 bit i think) , 4 gb ram ( windows uses only 3.25) , windows 7 32 bit.

Pretty good in my opinion , and still ,  in some areas i play with ****ty frame rate -_-  : video settings 1024 x 768 high video and texture settings.

What should i do ? do i have to upgrade my computer ? I was thinking of getting a new video card . Would swapping to windows 7 64 bit edition make it better? Can i optimize my computer in some way , so it runs better?

I believe Dragon Age is large address aware, which means that it can use more RAM on Windows Vista/7 64-bit. However, in practice I don't think this will lead to major performance gains. Getting a new video card would definitely give you the single greatest improvement - a Radeon 5770 or 5830 wouldn't break the bank and would provide a very large improvement, just make sure your power supply and case are compatible. In the meantime, you can try updating your system drivers, especially video drivers, to see if performance improves at all.

Hi! in which places your fps are dropping? i got pretty much same annoying performance as you are

and i have q9400 2.66ghz and hd 5770 1gb 4gb ddr2 ram. I had e5200 2.5ghz and ati 4830 512mb and i upgraded to these i have now. Guess what my performance hardly even got better so i dont think its your gpu, its might be something else. Anyway upgrading isint bad idea if you play a lot games on pc but my experience on 5770 has not been so good in overall, so i would recommended getting other card. Your choice...hope you get your game working.

I had a 5770 for a short time and the game locked up the pc hard. Had to power down to restart.
