Hello.
I have beaten Mass effect on insanity before. But then I stopped playing for a year and got a new 360

So. im playing again.
The first time Im just basically doing a speed run on veterin to unlock insanity
So. I have just rescued Liara. So which is shorter. Noveria or Feros.

Also. If I reload the same character on my next playthrough, will the missions I completed with Liara on the first playthrough go towards getting her ally acheivment in the second playthrough?
Thank you.

I thought you had to play Hardcore to unlock Insanity.

I think Noveria is definitely shorter than Feros, even when you cut out every single side quest available on Feros. On Feros, you need to fight the Geth attacking Zhu's Hope, drive to Exogeni Headquarters, drive back from Exogeni Headquarters, then fight the Thorian. On Noveria, you can get your garage pass right away if you tell Anoleis about the Hanar trying to smuggle in goods, then drive to Peak 15, bypass the Hot Labs and head straight for Benezia, then return to the Normandy. Not necessarily a short run, but shorter than Feros.

And no, the missions do not carry over between playthroughs for the ally achievement. Not only that, but you can't get the achievement on a speed run. It's not enough to have the squadmate for most of the main missions, you have to have them for most of the missions available throughout the whole game. You'd need to do the side quests.

So even though you don't get Liara right away, just don't do any missions on the Citadel, get to Therum right away to pick her up, then start working on all the side quests.

I think feros is shorter, not sure, they are both pretty long.

Yeah, first run unlocks hardcore, 2nd run unlocks insanity.

Yep, it'll take three playthroughs unfortunately. That's why I was quite pleased that Insanity was already available to me when I first played ME2.

The achievement for Kaidan will improve Lift/Throw. The achievement for Liara will improve Barrier/Stasis.

Funny. For all the times I've played ME1 (which is many many many), I've never gotten an ally achievement. Like mixing up my squad too much, I guess.

If I've started Noveria, can I leave it uncompleted, go to other planets (mission) and return later without bombing the script???

You can return to Port Hanshan, but once you've done Peak 15, that's it for that portion of the game. The only side quest that I can see being unfinished is the one with the Hanar merchant, though.

If you're on pc it's the Q key if you haven't remapped the controls. The E key will let you get back in.

I just hitted H key and I got out the mako. When going back go near enough and hit enter when you have mako circle active (same as all npcs). I may have remapped some keys ;-) Example I have changed Q and E to work same as A and D. This makes both games alot better and controlling mako even easyer. Also I change space to work same ways in both games. Remaping keys is good idea. Only problem I have had is R-key. After playing ME2 and going to play ME1, I seem to throw few genades by accidents. Damm reflecs.

Ashley and Kaiden's achievement is really easy since Eden Prime is considered for the number of missions. You can pretty much complete Therum, several side quests, and either Feros or Noveria and get it. I did a speed run with Liara, and Wrex and got both of thier achievements at the showdown with Saren. I did a lot of side quests, but not all (something like 15-20 left).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Eden Prime shouldn't matter at all in regard to ally achievements because only assignments count towards them.

Wrex should be the easiest to get on a speed playthrough because his only requires 40 completed assignments.

I don't understand how anyone could get ally achievements on Ilos or Endgame Citadel, there are no assignments there. Unless the game is reading completed missions toward the count as well....
