Looks like a FO3 expansion to me. I just hope that the changes they do make don't end up buggy or unpolished, which is always the biggest concern with Obsidian games.

I'm going to miss the unique things he has to say, I will not however miss hearing those things repeatedly. Any word on the soundtrack? The FO3 soundtrack was pretty good overall, I would imagine this one would be in a similar vein.

Well the whole Fallout series (except for Fallout Brotherhood of steel, but i refuse to say that is part of the series lol) has used that type of music so yes, it's safe to say New Vegas will. Plus alot of the music you would expect in Vegas around the 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's such as Frank Sinatra.

Ah yes, well that's a bit frightening, I only have so much crooner tolerance. A bit here and there is fine, but I can see the soundtrack getting turned off this time around if they aren't careful.

I am sure you could still get it, it aint even released in Europe yet (it is soon, dunno when) so i cant get it yet.

What do you mean "ain't even released in Europe yet"? It's not released anywhere! But you can preorder the collector's edition in Europe.
@Twitchmonkey; Gonna be the standard Fallout-esque music tracks, but the non-music soundtrack (such as the theme etc) is Inon Zur again, who did Fallout 3 and DA:O.

I liked FO1 and 2 better than 3. But I never said FO3 was bad. In fact, it's great. They did make a great world and a good enough story, as well as 100 good reasons to play the game. I have faith in Obsidian. I know they do great storylines, and especially write incredible characters, so I believe, I trust the game will be good.

The Collectors edition will include seven "Lucky 7" poker chips, which in the game represent the major casinos found in the wasteland. A special "Lucky 38" platinum chip will also be included, which seems to have some story significance. The gambling items are rounded out by a custom deck of New Vegas cards, with its own characters. The press release teases that players can use them to play traditional card games, or Caravan, which was created for New Vegas. Other, more traditional CE bonuses include a hardcover graphic novel from Dark Horse comics, and a documentary DVD with making-of features.

Oh, just f**king great... so I have to choose between that awesomeness and the eventual GOTY edition with all DLC.

... will also have it on their files, as Gamestation, Game and Gameplay are all the same company. Well, if they don't, I'll be damned surprised!

@Dethateer; I don't know if DLC is announced for it, so there may not be a GotY edition. Might as well get FO:NV when it comes out.

I don't remember any DLC being announced for FO3 before it came out either. Then again, I didn't pay much attention to it before I got it last year.

Either way, if there is any, you won't be paying Microsoft's moon dollars for it on PC. Unless you're on 360.

I cant wait to try out Hardcore mode, no more instant regeneration via stimpacks and the like. In this mode, you'll have to wait a few seconds before you're back to full health. Furthermore, the player character will be more susceptible to dehydration. You must drink water to survive, and bullets have weight.

Some things about Hardcore mode sound okay, but the need to eat and drink and the ammo weight is too much.

You can turn it off anytime, it's just to make it more realistic and a surivival game also.

I have to wonder if we may meet the chosen one from Fallout 2, he might be dead but new Vegas takes place 40 years after Fallout 2, he could still be alive but as a old man. I was wondering about The chosen one during FO3, like how im gonna be wondering what has happened or what is happening to The lone wanderer during New Vegas.

Actually I think once you turn it on, you can't turn it off.  Its sort of to prevent abusing the system for highs.

This game is going to be alot like Fallout, but I am looking forward to it not only because of a new experience, but the fact there won't be any more overpowered Power Armor by the looks of it.  In FO3 I had the desire to wear it just becuase I felt naked without it because of the intimidation factor of the BoS and Enclave.  I mean, a guy in power armor taking on some dude in a regulator duster.  You can guess who will win.  The Republic of Cali's troops armor also looks badass (the guy with the flag in the earlier teaser trailer)

No they confirmed that players can choose to opt out of hardcore mode at any time, but it can't be turned back on once it's been deactivated.

Yeah, but tbh i loved wearing a regulator duster with a hood i got from one of the people in Oasis looks badass, but not very protective lol. For big battles against the likes of Enclave i tend to switch to Medic armor or the TB-51 or the winter TB-51.

Well do you get what I mean that in the face of power armor, anything but power armor seems pathetic?
