Only thing that stood out for me was the guy getting crucified on a cross.

As if I needed more reasons to want this game.I like what they showed of Vegas so far. It looks colorful, yet dilapidated. There was a great 50s vibe to that casino too.
Yeah i cant wait! I have to wonder about the eye bot, pre-war, or Enclave? The world look's more lived in this time also, i hope there is plenty of settlement's with interesting caracters to meet.

However, the footage of New Vegas does not impress me at all. Everyone knows Fallout 3 fails at character animation and physics. Well, that still looks to be the case. New Vegas seems dated in nearly every respect. I don't get the allegiance some people have to Obsidian despite their shoddy track record. Hope I'm wrong, but if this is another buggy patch job, I say they should close up shop.

I recently purchased Fallout 3 and I think its an amazing game so far. Not sure I could get into the first two as they are turned based, I think. So I guess I'm not a 'real' Fallout fan.

I actually kind of like how they used the same engine as Fallout 3. It grew on me. Probably because it's more familiar to me. But to put this simply: I like the ****ty graphics. My only problem with the last Fallout is that everything was mostly grey, green, and black. It created an unforgettable atmosphere, yes, but it got repetitive. From the all videos and screenshots that I've seen so far on Fallout: New Vegas, it's much more flamboyant while still keeping that wasteland sort of feel. The wasteland in Fallout 3 seemed a bit empty.
Also, to me, Baldur's Gate 2 felt superior to Baldur's Gate 1. I also liked Neverwinter Nights 2 better than Neverwinter Nights 1. And KOTOR 2 was not what every wanted because of time constraints. They had lots of ideas but they're time was limited. Also, there are people in Obsidian who were in the original Black Isle Studios(creators of Fallout 1 & 2) that are working on Fallout: New Vegas so I can see that coming to Obsidian's advantage. The only thing that makes me worry is Alpha Protocol. I didn't like it. I know people here that do, but I certainly didn't. Thought I certainly don't see Fallout: New Vegas becoming as bad as Alpha Protocol. But than again, I might just be biased in this matter.

It's not the graphics so much as the animations. Couldn't they have at least improved on this?
Here's from an interview Funkcase posted earlier:
I’m assuming that you are reusing some of the animations from Fallout 3. Have you done anything to improve these or are they going to stay the same way that they did in Fallout 3?
From Zearox via Bethesda Blog
Josh Sawyer: We started our animation work by determining what new animations we needed, what existing animations we thought needed revision, and what else we could revise. We have already changed some of the core combat animations (for example, all first-person firearm aim animations have been revised) as well as creature animations (our "West Coast" Super Mutants have new idles, walk, and run cycles).
So I'm guessing this issue is under control.

The walking animation looks like it was ripped straight from Alpha Protocol. And it's terrible. The others...we'll see. I'll gladly eat crow if I have to.
Well, in the E3 trailer, I saw people actually dancing. Believe me slimgrin, you won't see anybody doing that in Fallout 3. Though I'll be honest, I wasn't too concerned about the walking animation until you mentioned it. Whenever I wanted to play the game in third person, I was disappointed in the way my character walked(another reason why I play the game in first person). Of course, that still leaves the NPCs.

The way I see it, this is Obsidian's swan song. When was the last stable and successful game they made? They botch this one and there will be hell to pay. This is a major IP they're meddling with here, and its going to take more than great writing to make it work. For all the crap Fallout 3 gets from purists, it is still a top rated game. It's still a great game, even if it differs from previous installments. We have Bethesda to thank for that, not Obsidian.
And I'm not saying I didn't like Fallout 3. I loved it. Bethesda did a great reboot of it. But Obsidian has made pretty successful games in the past minus Alpha Protocol. Right now, they have the advantage with the people originally associated with Black Isle studios. That doesn't mean that that will garuntee(sp?) success however. But people should think of this more as a spinoff and something to keep us busy until Fallout 4 comes. Right now it's too early to see how good the game will be because, well, it's too early. We're going to have to wait till E3 for more information.
