Hi all.  My name is Dylan and I recently borrowed Dragon Age to test it.  I have been enjoying it for about 30 hours, when I ran into something that may completely ruin the experience of the game for me.

I had a second friend who was interested in the game.  So I let him start a new game.  He only played for about an hour, and didn't even save a game.  But ALL MY SAVES were deleted when he played.  It was on my account and we both played the Human Noble origin story.  There was no warning that saves were going to be deleted.  Is this what happens in this case?

I'd put 30 hours into the game and got about 40% of the way through that world.  The surprise of the game is completely gone, as far as events, powers, and characters.  And the relationships the way they were have been lost.  At least 30 hours worth of it is. 

I can't even begin to think about going back through the game, spending that amount of time just to recover to that point.  Major buyer's remorse here.  Is there any way to retrieve those save files (16 of them by the way from all points in the story)?

I am not sure if it is because I am not a veteran 360 user that I didn't think of this. Do all 360 RPGs require every person to play on a different account in order not to delete the previous run-through's saves?

Saves are associated with the character, so if your friend started a new character there would be no saves visible at the load screen until he made some. I doubt that your previous saves are gone. Did you try changing characters at the load screen?

I'll check on that again. I tried that, I think, but I'll make another pass.

The saves are there. I wasn't hitting the right combination of buttons to check out all of the characters and their files. Thank you so much, switzki. That saved a great game from being ruined for me.
