If America could repeat their second half performance for the full length of a game they'd be one of the better teams in the cup right now. Unfortunately they keep starting off slow, conceading points and playing catch-up for the majority of the game. They've got good players and they all work well together, but there was definately something lacking in the first 45.

Does Capello know that James is a goalkeeper notorious for his history of blunders in the Premier League?

In the papers here:

Seaman was crucified after Ronaldinho's goal in 2002 but tried again. After a corner's goal by Macedonia, he was retired. Then came David James, who "ate a chicken" against Austria in Euro 2004 and became "Calamity James".

Then Paul Robinson, who kicked the wind against Croatia and suffered a goal by Neville, his team mate! Then Carson, another chicken hungry who failed again vs Croatia and England kissed Euro 2008 bye-bye.

Now they have James, Green and Hart, who is supposedly the best of those 3 but considered too inexperienced.

I have my doubts about Hart personally...will always be a Green fan as he a product of the Norwich academy...

But yes, we have a history of keeper mistakes, but then, which country doesnt?

Its more to do with recovering from blunders. Green hasnt proved he can bounce back, Capello might have seen something in training that made him think he wasnt up for it.

As many blunders as James has produced he has been fairly steady the last couple of years in the league. I would have started the tournament with James as number 1 personally.

They are saying on tv now that it was the players went to Capello and said they feel more comfortable with James in goal.

When he comes home though Rage he will have the media out in force waiting to snap him at the airport and harrass him. It be safer coming home with the team. They already printing stuff about his private life that has nothing to do with dropping the ball into the net.

Algerian Steve agrees and questions what position Heskey is playing? Algerian Steve thinks playing seemingly at rightback is an extreme length to go to to try and stay onside.

Algerian Steve agrees once again. Algerian Steve also looks forward to tomorrows papers if this keeps up and also questions what happened to alleged policy of constantly closing teams down that Cappello was so upset they didnt produce against the Platinum Allstars?
