If you getting maxed out cpus, try CPU-control. http://www.softpedia...U-Control.shtml

Run the prog
Set mode to manual
Run the game
When started, alt-tab out and right click the games process (daorigins.exe), set CPU 1+2 (Quad users might vary)
Check in game and task manager and see if it helps

This
helped me alot, but haven't tested for any great length of time. Might
want to spread the other processes over the cores aswell.
