OK so maybe I just missed the band wagon
and maybe this has been explained in previous forums,

but this OP would love to know what the HUGE fascination with Tali is????

is it something from ME1 already or something now with ME2????

and what is it that makes Tali have such a HUGE following over the other squad mates?

whay aren't there Wrex-mancers? or Liara-Mancers? and on that note....

I don't know. Although I like Tali's character, I refuse to go into the official fan thread. I've been in there a couple of times and well....I found it disturbing.

There are 'mancers(which is a contraction of romance btw) of most characters. It's my belief that her fanbase is just very large online. All the people but one I know in RL who play ME prefer the other LIs.

She's attractive to a lot of people, mainly because of her fascination with machines, her prodigious amount of info on the geth and the quarians that you don't get anywhere else, 'dem hips', the accent, and her personality.

She was more popular than people thought she'd be when ME1 released, and she always had her fanbase, but when the community found out that she had a bigger role in ME2, that her personality was fleshed out even more, AND that she was now a love interest, her popularity skyrocketed.

Luck, I suppose? Developers can never really predict how their fans will react to the characters they make.

For the former, I don't honestly know, for the latter, yes, but they're more subdued but there are less of them.

People who support Tali'Zorah vas Neema, and support her as a love interest in ME2 and beyond.

That is true... I think it happened when Stanley Woo went in there and threatened to close the thread.  Also.. the forums have slowed down a lot in the last couple of weeks.  They need to release that DLC because the game is losing it's momentum.

I often visit the Tali fan thread though I do not consider myself a Talimancer. Just a simple fan. Her, Garrus, and Wrex are the only characters I really have any liking for. The human characters in the game are just too ordinary.

It's a big world and there are a lot of weirdies out there. Take your favourite movie and google "+slash fiction" with safe search turned off if you don't believe me. No, I don't read that stuff, but I've a friend who admits to writing it o_O. She also tells me she's a furry, although I've never seen her in a mascot outfit. You'd never know it to meet her; she's not socially bizarre, holds a good tech job, happily married with a cub. Erm, child.

Tali is cute and all but how she has such a large fan base is beyond me. I do not hate Tali but her following is taken a bit too far. Maybe they see something in her that I dont, but its all good as long as I get Jack in ME3.

What's funny about Tali, to me, is that I see loads of people who are completely obsessed with the character, loads of people who loathe the character so much they have signatures about killing her....and not a whole lot of in between.







What happened to the reasonable Tali fans? Or the people who don't think it's worth getting that worked up over one way or another?

Being a Tali-mancer myself, I can probably reveal why most of us love Tali:

1. Tali is a strong-willed character, but she is still vulnerable in many ways and needs Shepard to back her up or protect her from time to time. The male mind is usually very protective of mates, so the fact that Tali needs Shepard feeds into our own egos.

2. Unlike the other female characters of ME, Tali is a gentle spirit. Most guys like their girls gentle and reasonably docile. This contrasts immensely with Jack, Miranda, or even Ashley. Again, this feeds into the male ego.
