Just wanna see where people stand on the Fable franchise. What do you expect do be different with gameplay? What do you want to see? How do you think your old file from Fable II will impact your world on Fable III. Feel free to talk and post your views.

If the rumours are correct, then I'm going to be very interested in the PC version. I'm unsure how they will carry over the optional-Natal use (remove it, perhaps? Mouse could probably substitute depending on what they planned), however.

If it is true, however, I sincerely hope Fable 2 is also released.

I am liking the new info I read so far. I will just copy/paste it.

"When queried over how the game would work after the player had assumed control of Albion, Molyneux was quick to inform gamespot.com that the game would not become a Theme Park-style management game and that Lionhead would not be returning to its roots making strategy games.[4]

There are rewards for being a self-serving ruler, including a treasury filled with gold piles that grow or diminish based on the player's wealth. The player's in-game family will attempt to pressure the player into selfishly taking money from Albion to maintain and upgrade their castle.[4]

The player is also tasked with dealing with how their society works on a day-to-day basis, such as how to handle crime, poverty, and taxation. Another example is the choice to go to war. While Albion is only a single continent in a much-larger world, Fable III is the second game in the series to expand the playable areas beyond Albion's borders.[4]

Like the character-morphing that defines the series, where the player's character changes appearance based on his or her actions, growing beautiful or ugly based on good and evil actions respectively, Fable III expands that to location-morphing. If the player taxes a region heavily, the people will become visibly poorer, their buildings will start to fall into disrepair and the player will encounter hostility from them if he passes through the area. The example Lionhead gave was the town of Bowerstone: in the time since Fable II Albion has undergone the industrial revolution and Bowerstone has become "a mass of Victorian-era inspired churning industry," with the skyline being hugely affected by this. During the technological upheaval, however, crime, injustice and poverty have grown and the player can choose to eradicate it or let it continue unchecked. Either way, Albion will grow to reflect the player's decision or lack of.[4]

Molyneux has promised to remove a traditional RPG mechanic from Fable III, the emphasis being on removing "clunkiness" and making the game more accessible.A new system also applies to general interaction, such as to shake someone's hand. Dynamic Touch allows the player to lead someone to a location. Molyneux gave an example of a child trapped in a burning building. The player could go into the house and comfort the child with Expression Touch before using Dynamic Touch to carry the child to safety"

Catch 22.

I don't want to support it because Fable II wasn't released on PC, but if I don't support it maybe it will discourage more releases on the PC.

Wow that's a huge wall of text of promises. I'll believe it when I see it.

I played the original Fable through, it was pretty good but didn't live up to the hype. I'm really hoping that the PC version of Fable 3 comes with Fable 2, that'd be awesome.

Perhaps we'll get a double pack? Remember how we got the psuedo-GotY edition Fable 1? Perhaps we'll get a similar Fable 2 release either seperately or joined with Fable 3.

That'd be really cool, but this is Microsoft we're talking about. They'll probably whip out some rubbish about how Fable 2 is a game that can only be enjoyed in a personal living room setting whereas Fable 3 is more epic and engrossing so is a perfect fit for the PC. Yep, I'm still bitter about Alan Wake...

Aren't we all? Still can't believed they pulled that one over us, to be honest, although a benefit is that we don't have to worry about buying moon dollars for the DLC as we won't get the game. Not bothered with any BioShock 2 DLC, either.

Fable 3, if it's true, should be good though. Really looking forward to it.

Fable 3 is going to be good. I seen the new diary, and the fact that so much new things are implemented are impressive. I am going to enjoy this game. I still play Fable 2 sometimes.

Very very pleased it is coming out for the PC. This is pretty much one of the big games this year that will be a must buy along with Fallout:New Vegas.

My interest in this series has always been minimal. I'm not keeping tabs on Fable III. When it's near release and reviews are written in droves I will make my decision then. If it's anything like the first two games, I doubt I will be interested. So far the only thing that makes me consider this game at all is a promise of lots of outfits to play around with. That alone isn't enough to justify a purchase, but it intrigues a clothes horse like me.

D3?

I think it could stand quite well against Onechanbara

Earth Defense Force would annihilate it though

The Fable series has some problems actually living up to its claims so I make no judgments on it until after it has come out. It could be great or it could fail miserably. I'd like to see it be great but I'm not holding my breath. I'm just hoping that my fat bank account from Fable 2 transfers over to Fable 3 lol...and that inflation doesn't make my fat bank account worthless lol.

I played the first fable only on xbox, and it was a good game, just not one to be easily hyped over. But if Fable III comes out on PC, I'll probably be interested, since I don't bother with getting the xbox 360 now.

Plus the setting looks cool. Steam-punk with an alternative Industrial Revolution.

I have some Fable game on my shelf that I never played for PC. I think it was called the Lost Chapters or something. Never got around to playing it.

I'm with Seagloom, I like outfits! Clothing my character is something I have a lot of fun with. Otherwise, I'm not very interested. The game doesn't seem to appeal to me, and I'm not sure if Molyneux is going to deliver on all of these features he wants to implement. I need extensive reviews before I will think about getting the game.

It looks like it'll be fun. I enjoyed both the first and second game thoroughly, so I expect to like the third. I'm just hoping that they add a difficulty slider or something, so that it can be casual friendly or give a player a challenge if they want one; both games, especially 2, were too easy. And as for all of Molyneux's plans for 3.... I just wouldn't listen to him, he's infamous for over-hyping and exaggerating. I've taken everything he's said with huge grains of salt since before Fable 1 was released

Woah there! That sounds like dangerous thinking... ;)

"What do you want to see?" I would like to see something that'll blow my hat off and make me purchase it. Not to be pessimistic about it, but the first one was, meh.

"How do you think your old file from Fable II will impact your world on Fable III?" Hmm... Well, if 3 is coming to PC and 2 isn't being ported... I don't know how they plan on handling that. From a PC perspective. It does kind of give me the evil idea that they might "acknowledge" your old save with a polite nod and not a, "Wow. Look! That seed I planted is a tree now", kind of thing. Or the cheap and easy for the PC would be question the player starting a new game and develop a history based on a bland morality Q&A. I'm betting they take that second road.

no offense to the OP, but fable conversations are best reserved for after the fable game launches. everything molyneux says is subject to be total BS until launch day. i expect an overhyped, mediocre but colorful action adventure game.

Peter Molyneux always promises the moon and then delivers a wheel of cheese. No thanks.

Yeah no kidding, (Corrected your capitalization btw) from what I hear about Fable III it seems to be "thooper" fun.  But as said Molyneux can't be a credible source for anything.  I would like LionHead to go back and make a RTS/Multiplayer Black and White sytle game.

Well no offense to you, but I want to see people's views before & after to see if their opinions on Lionhead or Fable have changed.

Ah, more reasons to use my Molyneux voodoo doll in the vain hope that it will finally have an effect after all this time. Just like my vain hopes that he'll make a game that won't suck after all this time.

What do I hope to see? A finished game.
