I would like to discuss the reason nobody likes Thane. Is it his boring loyalty quest? Or his annoying flashbacks. Discuss.
You are a blind ass. Plenty of people love Thane. Go back to your hater-hole.<_<

I don't however, like green eggs and ham.

I don't really like him.
I mean, I use him a lot in combat, and his recruitment and loyalty missions were fun -- I just don't like his character. The whole spiritual assassin thing doesn't make sense. He kills "bad" people, prays for forgiveness, then goes right on killing again. If he really felt that bad about it, then he'd stop assassinating people.
If you pay attention while talking to him you'd understand why he's so calm about it.
That said, I like Thane. He's pretty cool, plus he has warp.

Thane always kills the mood.
Shepard: "Hey we're all going to party on Omega."
Thane: "I'm dying."
Shepard: "Oh... I should go..."
Plus his flashbacks get annoying.
Thane: "His eyes water. He tugs at my sleeve. He asks, 'Why didn't
you stop them from letting Mommy go?' ... I'm sorry. The memories come
strong sometimes."
Shepard: "His eyes unfocus. He babbles something
about his son, completely disrupting the conversation. He cryptically
half-apologizes and expects me to figure out what's going on."
Thane:"We drell have a perfect memory. We can relive... The laser dances.
Sunset eyes meet mine. The laser dances away. 'How dare you?' her eyes
ask through the scope...."
Shepard: "Bored with the conversation, he
changes the subject. He uses poor metaphors like 'sunset eyes.' He
tries to impress me with pseudo-poetry. He fails miserably and
protests."
Thane: "Stop mocking me, Shep--- My finger tightens on
the trigger. The rifle recoils, an old friend coming home. The target
drops like a rag doll--- I can't help it and you're being a dick."
Shepard: "His stupid flashbacks thinly veil empty threats. He sits alone in life
support and wonders why no one likes him. He struggles to breathe
sometimes, but no one cares." *walks out*
Although, to be fair, it was not Gabey5 who actually came up with this funny parody, but a user from the Gamefaqs boards whom he did not credit. Just getting that out there.
That said, I don't HATE Thane, per se.
I think he's a useful person to have aboard and he's moderately useful in the suicide mission, but he's definitely not as impressive as Garrus.

I do not mind thane.....I used to hate him before the game came out because of the 3646437364 threads made by fangirls about how hot he was and had the alpha-dog-urge to bust a few caps in his knees and groin just to remind him who the bigger dog is but when the game came out I grew to like his phylosophical approach and all...it helped that he was not half the cocky jackass he appeared to be in his reveal trailer....
I think this is the reason some dudes still hate him.

His flashbacks are annoying, especially if you accidently repeat conversation, but i enjoyed the loyalty quest and like his character and background.
I think he is rather attractive too... for an amphibian alien.

I like Thane.
I can think of much more boring characters.. *cough*Jacob*cough*
De-lurking to agree with Catt. I tried and tried to warm up to Jacob's character. Just couldn't do it. Not after he was basically indifferent to the attrocities his father committed.
I like Thane in that he, like Samara, is older than most of the rest of the crew, and that adds a bit of variety to how the different squaddies feel about life in general.

We pick up Thane because he'll be cheap to hire, he's very talented at what he does, and he'll be willing to join up for the cause.
