I've had this occur several times
When try and open my inventory the game freeze and if i press the windows key the game dissapears and i go to desktop

I'm having a similar issue except in my case the game doesn't freeze it just crashes and the window closes immediately. For about 3 hours of game play I've had it happen 4 times each with exactly the same symptoms.
