I hope it will be an original story in the DA setting, instead of the game adoptation...

The Mass Effect film will probably be made for the witless masses and have nothing to do with anything in Mass Effect and I dare say that this Dragon Age adaptation will have that distinctive Anime flavour which the fanboys crave and I don't mean the guys mad about Dragon Age either.

Dragon Age is NOT suited for anime IMHO. I'd prefer to see an animated move like thw CGI trailers Sacred Ashes and Warden's Calling.
Oh well.
What this guy/gal said. 100%
Watching some tacky characters with massive eyes, spiked hair-dos and child like voices doesn't interest me in the slightest. unless of course, most anime movies have moved on since the '90's.

I can understand why you wouldn't want to do a live action fantasy movie. Something as epic in scale as Dragon Age would need to have a very large budget to pull off and many people fail at such an endeavor. Animation in general actually does make perfect sense, but why anime?
Well, I adore Dragon Age so I'm sure I'll give watching this a try when it's released. Here's hoping I can sit through more than 15 minutes of it without wanting to leave.

This is a terrible idea. Will this be a case of mages doing lots of arm waving and shouting incoherently in a flashy backdrop while casting a spell? Or will it be androgynous warriors with spiky hair waving a sword about that is twice as big as their bodies?
Jean-Funk approves +1
I do not want to imagine those terrible hair styles, unproportional bodies, extremely long mouths/noses whatever...
A CGI-movie like Sacred Ashes would be MUCH better. I'm wondering where this leads..

It would suit the story better as you could tell it all.
Each map point from the game could be an episode?

Not that it's hard to be better news than the Mass Effect movie.

There is no reason an adaptation of DA done in anime style cannot be great. Also it's being done by an American company, so I fail to see how any of the stupid anime cliches people mention are likely to be a problem.

I agree.
There are anime series I liked and used to watch, but I don't think that it is the best medium to create a Dragon Age movie. I'll keep thinking about the Berserk anime...
