Funimation should be able to do an ok job.

From the time of dubbing dragon ball z (original, they had like 1 studio and a few people and everyone did everyone's lines) to now, they've gotten a lot bigger, and a larger talent pool from which to recruit and use people.

The quality, I dunno, I haven't seen any recent NEW funi releases.

And although some anime hairstyles are ridiculous, some aren't so much- having messy, naturally spiky hair isn't too far-fetched. Just **** on the level of Vegeta is unbelievable.

It seems like a lot of people just decided to drop onto the hate bandwagon for anime.

I agree, alot of hate for this. One thing I'd love to see explored is a past Blight or maybe the Qunari invasion of Var Pollen where they first clash with the... Thedans (sp?) - people of Thedas. Ya know something to expand the DA universe a bit.

Ill only be pleased if the English release has the original voice actors. No exceptions.

By original are you refering to the in-game VA's? I would assume they would, but you also assume that SOME of the characters from the game(s) will be making an appearance in the movie.

Wow, all the internet haters......

Record of Lodoss War...... yeah, an Anime DA can work.

And Legendary with Arad working on a feature? That literally CANNOT go wrong, but alas, haters shall hate, for no other reason then they think they actually know whats best.

I'm surprised we haven't started hearing more about this by now. Supposedly, this was the project advertised on the DA flyer that came with Awakening, scheduled for a Feb 1, 2011 release. Thats only two and a half months away (assuming the release date wasn't pushed back), and I figured we'd have seen a trailer or previews by now if it was still coming on that date. This makes me wonder if it wasn't pushed back a bit to coincide better with DA2's March release.

Geez. Why the heck are people opposed to anime? Considering that anime has all kinds of stuff for pretty much everyone, such as Spice & Wolf, Macross, Dragonball (not Z), Black Jack, Avatar, Patlabor, Full Metal Panic, and Astro Boy, it is rather freakish that people seem to hate animated works. It is horrid to behold people disliking the medium, for no good reason.

That said, I do worry about the overall quality of an Dragon Age anime, but that stems from issues of workmanship, not the medium. Funimation isn't that good in my opinion, but I hope that a steady hand of the writers of Bioware would keep things in good order.

Sounds cool, if it goes the route of say Sword of the Berserk, or even Vampire Hunter D, style and tone wise.

Glad to see gamers still negatively criticizing things before so much as a cast or trailer is available. Stay classy.

Are we ever going to get news about this or will it just launch one day and surprise us?

Well, I'm all for it. I like watching the Japanese version/spinoff DVDs (Animatrix, Halo, Dead Space, etc.) I find it interesting to see what ideas they had. Besides, it's not going to ruin anything, it's just a movie after all. No one is telling Japan to rework the next video games or anything. I think of it as fan fluff, sort of like the novels or T-shirts, fun but completely unnessesary to the main experience.

I wish you would do a real animated movie. They ruined Halo with that crap. A good animated movie, or even a live action film would have been awesome. Now we get to watch 2 hours of a guy flying through the air.... then 20 feet behind him a naked monster explodes.... yay.

Is this really even anime? Is it being animated by Japanese artists?

Well FUNi will get someone to do it my bet is Madhouse they are the only ones who would do it and whatever they make off it will be fine with them.

Something like Toei will not make it unless they know it will make a ton and Gainax has like no money to put into this and it would kill them.

How about a Dragon age animated series?

It would suit the story better as you could tell it all.

Each map point from the game could be an episode?

I like it. Also i wonder what orgin they will take? Will they take the human noble?

Hmm...I'm not sure where I stand on this, it could go either way in my opinion. Funimation has some good voice actors, so it may not be as bad. And because of my Crayon Shin Chan bender, I am now picturing the main character being voiced by Laura Bailey in that tone. XD

I don't think this is gonna be a remake of Dragon Age Origins. I think its gonna be an original story set in the Dragon Age world.

So, after ten months and without any news...
Is this project alive?

And also...maybe it's just me, but Victor Wachter doesn't work for Bioware anymore?

I swam threw FUNimations website, didnt find any thing on it. Not even the search tool in the forums brought it up. Which still doesnt mean anything, but it would be nice to at least get a Yay or Nay if its going to happen.
