I had to format and reinstall Windows, so I created a backup of my files. When I reinstalled ME 2 and loaded the save files, my map started randomly dinging on over and over again. It is incessant! Has anyone had a problem with their map blinking on randomly, and does anyone have a solution?../../../images/forum/emoticons/crying.png

This problem has been known for a while but I don't think there's a solution (or there will ever be). This is just as bad as the "heartbeat during loading" issue. I doubt the PC patch in the works will fix any of these issues (there's been a lot more crippling issues besides these two).

Nope. I've done about 9 playthroughs of this game and there's still the random dinging on the map. I wouldn't mind it too much since it doesn't hamper the gameplay at all (or crash your game, although that would be interesting).
