Put Uldina on the Council in the first Mass Effect.
I Love both mass effect games, but this felt like the worst choice ever designed.
After Uldina is a complete ass to you through the entire game, what Shepard Paragon or Renegade would say "I want that man on the council!". Please post your thoughts and if you put Uldina on the council, tell me why you did it.
Who Would Ever....

Well he is an actual politician. He has experience which Capt. Anderson doesn't. In fact the only reason I found to keep him off the council was personal hatred of him.
That said, I never put him on the council.
Also, shouldn't this go in the spoiler section? Sure, it's ME1 but still.

It's that way for a reason. "Don't like this guy as a leader? Buy ME1 and he won't be!"
Nearly all the ME2 default choices leave something out that would give you access to extra content/depth of character/different options while still making the game playable (let's not get into an argument about the characters/characterisation here kids...).

You have to be very creative to find a reason for this. A normal goody-two-shoes will not put this immoral man in the council, the normal renegade will want revenge for his betrayal.

I never chose him. He is betrayer; he locked the Normandy in Mass Effect 1.

Who would ever romance Tali
Who would ever save the Collector Base
Who would ever have a squadmate killed during the suicide mission
Who would ever not punch the reporter

He's definetly an ass. Im playing through ME1 for the first time atm, omw to finish off the last mission. Im hoping to get my Paragon level above 75% just for the achievement (i assume letting Uldina be in the council is a paragon-choice?), but im not really fond of doing this if he's gonna be a council member in ME2. Will someone PM me the answer, if they feel too restricted to spoil in on the boards?

im pretty sure udina isnt a paragon choice because i think that he was on the bottom.
and if im wrong, i dont think choosing who should be the council seat member has any paragon or renegade points.
and last thing, theres one huge choice before the game ends, so that should help.

Who would ever romance Harbinger?
Who would ever consider denying the rabid talimancers their continuation of "T3H EPIC ROMANCE!!11!1!1one!1!eleven!1!" in ME3?
Who would ever seriously make a Tyrone Shepard?
Who would ever come between the weird-ass relationship between Zaeed and Jessie?

In only one of my play-throughs did I not punch the reporter but she did get a very strong rebuke for her narrow-mindedness.Ashton808 wrote...

Why can't we stab him?

It kinda makes sense at the end if you kill the you-know-whos (spoilers forums remember?) and further humanity's power. Anderson gets al pissy about it but Udina reacts like: "Hell, yeah!"

Neither one is a bad choice, really:
Anderson lacks the political experience Udina has
And Udina lacks the defensive power Anderson has
You can choose either one, and I bet that they won't really matter at all in ME3 because the other has one the other lacks.
As for canon; it's safe to say that Udina is a more canon choice, because he his a politician and knows how the Council works. Plus, Anderson is promoted to Admiral, giving him more horizons and allowing him to stretch his defensive/offensive knowledge.
But it's not to say that it's not hard to say that the latter option is canon too; Anderson enforces Citadel security and defence, while Udina is just his advisor.
All in all, the choice is yours.

Not once! He's the hardest part about getting a high paragon score for ME1 cause every time I see him I have to b**ch him out. Hate that guy...

Zaeed should be a renegade "quicky" for fem Shep, like Jack is for male Shep.

I chose Udina in my renegade playthrough for the heck of it. Like the rest of my renegade playthrough.

Choosing Udina for Councilor is the Renegade choice.
Anyway, I never chose him. No matter what alignment.

Technically this is in the wrong area since its borderline spoilerific. But yeah, Anderson ftw.

I don't care if he's a good politician or not, I'm never giving him another chance to throw me under the bus.

You could say the same thing about saving the council. They're jerks to you the entire game too.
I put Anderson on the council. It was almost pure nepotism.
Although I figure that he must have some political experience/connections if he not only made it to Captain in the fleet, but was put in charge of fleet's most advanced ship. I also figured he'd "shake" things up. After thousands of years of the same political system, things would start to stagnate. It's that type of desire to maintain the status quo that left Shepard and Shepard alone to deal with the enemies in the first two games( I had hoped he'd throw the full weight of the allied fleets behind me in ME2).
