Seriously, I'm pretty sure 1 playthrough isn't possible, even if you already have the XP-related achievements.

It's not possible without cheating. The best someone is going to get is level 57, maybe level 58. To put it in perspective, all the experience points you get for reaching level 57? You need about as much experience to go from level 57 to level 60.
Well 59 to 60 is 200,000 itself. So the answer is no, you can't get Extreme Power Gamer in one playthrough, not even with DLC and 100% mission/assignment completion.

58. I did every sidequest and killed every mob on foot and just barely made 58 before the end.

I'm not trying to get the achievement, I already did that a long time ago. All I was trying to do is to get to level 60 in one playthrough, I have school and I only have time on the weekends to play so yeah. I'll just have to do the impossible then and besides soon I'll have no school anymore.

Seriously if it's impossible to reach level 60 without cheating, then why the heck did Bioware make it an achievement? It makes no sense.

I've finished ME 5 or 6 times, did everything you could do to get the most XP (Never use the Mako for kills, did every sidequest, picked-up every resourses, finished Bringing down the Sky, didn't have Pinnacle Station though) and the highest level I've reached is 57.

It's not impossible. It just takes more than one play through on the same character.

One play thru will get you to 57max; HOWEVER to get all TWELVE levels of conversation (Charm/Renegade) withOUT spending any talent points will require 3 play thus. So it really takes 3 play throughs to 'finish' the game (ie get Saren to kill himself before he turns into Soverign/Saren).
As to how many times I have played ME and ME2, "too many!" (wore out one controller!).

And don't forget, the experience you gain increases when you're at higher levels. Meaning, you may get 121 XP for killing a Thresher Maw at level 7, but at level 47 you may get 1131 XP for killing a Thresher Maw. That's what makes going from Level 55 to 56 to 57 possible without just stagnating because you're getting too few XP.
(Disclaimer: These figures are not accurate at all, I just threw them out there to show that you get more XP the higher level you are).

Most planentside battles during assignments give different XP amounts. These depend on whether you're fighting in the Mako or on foot. Being on foot generally yields more XP. Wouldn't recommend this with Threshers unless you have strong guns/grenades/biotics/all of the above.
I found taking on Threshers on Foot was MUCH MUCH MUCH easier than taking them out in the mako. The mako sucks at dodging the Thresher's attacks. To be successful on foot all you have to do is constantly shoot, while side strafing to dodge the acid.

You just have to stop the Mako as soon as the Thresher pops out of the ground. While staying in the same spot, use the thrusters to jump over the acid. From that position the Thresher will also never go back into the ground. It's also easy to get the XP on foot. Just whittle it down with the Mako and then exit it and finish it off on foot. The amount of XP you get is determined by the killing shot. You can do this with other harder enemies, too, like turrets and geth colossi.Comrade Bork wrote...
