Tali is hella cute, but seeing how you're basically made of allergens to each other, I somehow can't stop thinking that having an intercourse right before the most critical mission is not a particularly wise idea... Same with Garrus for femShep.

Tali's problem is as much the lackluster quarian immune system as it is protein compatibility. Mordin's only warning about Garrus is against ingestion. Well, and chafing, but that's unlikely to directly affect the mission. If anything, angrier Shepard.

I digress.

The problem is the quarian system isn't very good with microorganisms to begin with, and those same micro-organisms humans are covered in and filled with are basically made of allergens. Even if she doesn't get sick from cross-protein interaction she's caught something her evolution is completely unprepared for. At least Garrus is healthy, and Shepard's rebuilt system could probably take more of a beating than he could, let alone Tali.

And if you don't think dextro/levo allergic reaction is a good idea before the mission, I'm not sure having a romp with Thane "Sonoran Desert toad" Krios is a good idea either. "Some sniffles and muscle aches" is probably less mission-affecting than "tripping balls".

Hmm. Yet another "who's my favorite" thread. OK, then, I'll repeat what I posted in the others:

Ieldra2 wrote...
[...] most of us [in the Miranda thread] like Miranda because she is competent, morally ambiguous, interesting in many aspects and, last but not least, human and beautiful. Because she's powerful enough to be a companion instead of a mere follower to a larger-than-life hero like Shepard. Read the OP of the Miranda thread (link in my sig) for more details.

@MerrickShep:
I think we'll get the choice between the ME1 and ME2 LI if our Shepards had both. I certainly hope there won't be any new characters. There already are too many.

What are you on about? Haven't spent a whole lot of time on the boards before this month, couldn't say if you've all had it out already or not.

I find the potential ambiguity of the asari an interesting point. Tossed speculation into a speculation thread.

I know...I kind of like the tragedy of it all.

Well, fair enough, but I'm not playing a Shepard out to write a Greek tragedy across the stars. She wasn't looking for anything but a successful mission. That she found something good out here just makes it the sweeter.

Believe me, I've played a couple Liara LI Shepards through, faithful and non, I just think the world-weary, comrades in arms romance pays off in spades. They'll never have to ask a question about trust, never have to wonder or worry about losing them to anything short of the void.

It's a butter-cream frosted murder-cake of a romance that begs for a back-to-back shootout sequence, and I likes it.

As far as scenes, the best was Ashley's.

As far as the romance itself, the most fulfilling for me was Jack. But I still have to play Miranda's and Tali's.

I can't claim to understand the degree of danger of that whole levo/dextro-DNA thing to be honest. On one hand, the turian groundskeeper says that a single human bacteria in the water tanks could be deadly to a turian or quarian who would drink from it. On the other hand, if it really was that bad, turians would probably have to live in sealed envirosuits as well, at least in environments shared with levo-DNA species. On yet another hand, the turian bartender mentions that an alcoholic beverage suitable for humans would also kill him, although I don't think alcohol has chirality or even is a protein at all. But I'm not chemistry expert.

I was, however, under impression that an allergy is basically a disproportionately acute immune response. And if so, a strong immune system would actually make it worse. However, bacteria or viruses of the wrong chirality should not in fact cause an infection - precisely because their wrong chirality would prevent them from interacting with the host's proteins in any meaningful way. But then I'm not an immunology expert either...

Miranda and Liara are the ones who have had the biggest impact on Shepard's story. There is nothing special about Ashley at all.

Sort of. She had a role on Virmire, just as Kaidan did. Without them it's possible that the base may have not been destroyed. I would rank Liara as having the biggest impact and Miranda as having the second biggest impact though.

I choose Ashley, only because others are:

- A bucket head with the most annoying voice in the world

- Dat ass who works for one of the most despicable organizations ever

- A bald fruitcake

- A child

My preference is Tali. But I think all of the romances and romance interests are good...except Jacob. My second favorite is Jack/Miranda.

Jacob hater!

Any man who states that Miranda deserves a better man than himself should better not dare to try and charm my FemShep.

In ME1 I found both Ash and Liara kinda boring, but since Liara had more to do with the plot of the game I kept her around.

In ME2 I found Tali's to be the most interesting. It just seemed to grow naturally, more so than Jack's or Miranda's. After having seen all three outcomes Tali just comes out on top, literally. She was almost always on my team in ME1, and once I got her drone power high enough Tali was almost always on my team in ME2. Thats right around the time when I was always leaving Miranda behind.

Jack's I found to be disturbing. Crying the whole time during sexy time doesn't seal the deal for me. Considering she's the least used character in my play through next to Jacob I just go for the romp in the cargo hold and then never talk to her again.

I haven't played a femshep, mostly because Garrus is my bro and I don't want to see him any other way. That said, as a guy, Jacob seem like he could be a cool bro. I kinda like the idea of "gettin' loud and spillin' drinks on the Citadel" with the crew. Sounds like his love scene is pretty bad though.

Kind of a tangent here, but when it comes to Thane I just like his story. As someone who's had to rebuild his relationship with his father, I found Thane's story to be the most touching and human.

Tali. At first I was wanted to stay loyal to Ashley, but when she didn't want to join my crew, and when I later learned from Kelly about Tali's feelings for me, I decided to try flirting with Tali.

But than, I had to make a bid decision, at the point when Tali said that she could get sick and die or jepordize the mission if she and I were together, I was torn. Part of me wanted to stay with Ashley depite our falling out, but another part wanted to move on and begin anew with Tali. In the end though, I chose Tali.

That' what I love about the Mass Effect series, it sort of plays with your emotions a little bit and causes you to make some pretty big decisions.

For me it's between Liara and Tali. I honestly thought the were the only ladies in the series so far, that were actually likable.

Another Tali lover here.:P

She's my second favourite character in the series, so when I realised that I had the opportunity to romance her, I just had to go for it. She's funny, confident, good with a shotgun, an expert engineer, has a beautiful voice, and is a sexually repressed 24 year old. =]

What's not to love?

It's between Kaidan and Garrus for me. (Funny how they were my ideal squad in ME1, as a vanguard) I like both their personalities -- Kaidan's dry sense of humor and Garrus' baddassness in general, so it's difficult to choose.
