Face it guys. All these ladies can't be wrong. Alistair IS hot. So just get over yourself and take notes instead of complaining. Just sayin...
You know, Xandur, I don't think I've said this before, but I think I love you.

You know - you just punched yourself in the balls by admitting you are in your mid-30s and still have no clue about women. If you were in your teens or early 20s you'd have an excuse.

Not all women find Alistair attractive. A lot do, a lot don't. You're just more likely to hear from the ones who DO like him on a forum like this in a thread like this.
Please quit stereotyping.

I would say that someone who makes the statement "women like douchebaggery" doesn't have a clue about... anything.Hanz54321 wrote...

That it is. Now I'll bring down wrath upon myself saying this:
Alistair is too high maintenance for me. His insecurities, while understandable, grated on me after awhile. The expectations he had in a few circumstances were so unrealistic as to be completely off putting for me.
The Alistair Vs Zevran comments are actually silly -- both are supposed to be just as faithful and as loyal. They're written that way -- they're fictional characters. The romances both begin and finish in different places, but both are faithful and loyal and both fall completely in love.
How they both react to falling in love is very VERY interesting. I've said this before (and yes, I know I'm going to ****** off a lot of people who hate this part of the story): Alistair, when he falls in love, pulls away as reality hits. Zevran, when he falls in love, needs a commitment. You have one man who when you ask where things are going tells you, "I don't know." You have the other who says, "Unless we have a future, I can no longer be with you."
Now, which you prefer, that's an individual thing. But both are absolutely beautiful stories, and heartbreaking in their own ways.

I think you just nailed that for me. That is what I don't want to put up with while my Warden romances pixel guy (and same goes for real people actually). In spite how charming he is.ejoslin wrote...

Now, when I'm playing a char of a similar mentality - we get along like peas and carrots and the rest of the party be damned if they don't like it - we're the Grey Wardens after all!
If I'm not playing a char of that same mind, well then he can get pretty whiny and annoying in his expectations for perfection without being much help himself. So... that's when a more practical, if less chivalrous, man like Zevran starts looking pretty good. Especially since he isn't about to judge you for anything but the most egregious breaches of morality (like sucking the life out of a whole village of elves just to snag some hit points - pretty sure anyone with half a moral compass knows that's south of OK)

You want to tell me why you said this because I am not going to go back, read the entire thread, and try to decifer where and how you fit in to my comment directed at one person. I'm too busy eating popcorn.
