Hi guyz so I bought mass effect and installed it, and the game runs fine like it should be, but one thing is that the configuration utility had stopped working for some unknown reasons.
Shows this error message: Mass effect configuration had stopped working. Can't find any online solution too.
I tried to run compatibility for the application in WinXP (SP2) to no avail, and even Vista compatibility. Note that I'm running windows7 and I installed it in D drive as I don't want any games in my local disc. Does installing it in other location makes it not run? Or is it just Windows 7 compatibility issues.
Will the configuration utility affects anything? Or is there any addition settings in the config utility and not in the game itself?
Thanks for looking through this~

Although there is no certainty that the error is related to hardware, the opposite is equally uncertain. You can't know that it is not a hardware problem, so why did you choose not to provide the normal information in your report?

I thought it would not help, but on second thought I think it might help so here's the system specs:
Windows 7 Enterprise
System type 32 bit
Intel Core 2 Duo processor P8700
2.53ghz 1066MHz PSB, 3MB L2 cache
Up to 1791MB NVIDIA Geforce G105M turbo cache (I'm running it on a laptop)
4gb DDR3 (3gb usable)
Oh yea and by the way I bought it from a local vendor and it's a physical DVD-ROM.

AFAIK, the G.105 is well below the official minimum video performance, and that could very well be the hangup with the configuration function.

Strange though because I can run the configuration utility with no problem for Mass Effect 2 and run the game quite good too. But this only happens for Mass Effect 1.
