I am enjoying DA:O as it is, and I'm not really wanting an MMO experience from it. I'm really interested to see what they might have incorporated from the playstyle of DA:O into the upcoming The Old Republic, though.
this game has great possibilities to be an awsome MMORPG

strange things happen.....
like being heroic playing Arthas and such, saving the world.........
to...... rolling a noob to grind months just to go after that same "hero turned anti-hero".
player numbers for that prove it cant be all bad...

Sure, why not? But i do not think Bioware is interested at this time though.

I wouldn't buy Dragon Age: MMO. I'm sure there's a lot of money in it, though.
I'd buy a couple of copies of a co-op DA game. ETA 2-4 players on PC or just 2 players sharing a console screen would be nice. Maybe the focus could be more low-brow (think Icewind Dale).

No MMO please.
A new game in the DA universe that allows for community made modules to be hosted on LAN or Small scale internet hosting (Like NWN), yes please.

As an experienced and retired MMO player, I certainly don't hate people that play them. Although it is true that MMO's, like all online content, do have their fair share of retards
I do see potential for the DA universe to support an MMO, but do I really want Bioware, the only game company i can rely on to produce games like DA:O to focus on this genre? Not really. If you want to play an MMO, there's plenty of solid ones out there already. Since there is no such thing as beating an MMO, we really don't need any more.

No. I want to see many great RPG expansions and content released in the DA:O world. The last thing I want to happen is have DA:O turn into KotOR, yes?
Sure SW:TOR looks interesting, but I'm quite sure I'm not the only one who would have prefered a KotOR III instead. I'm still waiting. *Sighs wistfully*

Oh Lord, no. Haven't enough game franchises and settings been killed or castrated by the creation of MMO's in them? As soon as an MMO comes out, the single-player content in the same setting dries out and dies, which is what I'm primarily concerned with.

no to mmo. i like da as it is. i can see, though, how one might think the depth of the world, size of it, and all the details like lore etc could make for a good mmo, but i say no to mmo for da.

I would welcome a co-op aspect to this. Just thinking of me and a friend slaughtering darkspawn together is pretty sweet.
But an MMO? I think it would distill the epicness of the lore, considering Grey Wardens are built as this small contingent of very skilled people, not an army of 1mil+ noobs.
I have the same stance for TES MMOs. The lore is built on a small group or one person, not millions.

This. MMO's ruin lore.

As someone said the background, lore, etc. would make for a good backdrop to an mmo. But I really hope they don't take this franchise in that direction. I'm an avid mmo player, been playing everquest for around 9 years, but certain things need to remain single player to keep the integrity of the experience intact. Story, gameplay, immersion, and many other factors that make a single-player game great would be lost in translation I think.

While I understand people dislike of MMO it's hard to deny that Dragon Age's world and lore would make for a good MMO. It's fine saying you don't like mmo's but that doesn't mean Dragon Age's world isn't suited for one.
You have the big nasty generic bad guys who are pure evil and allow the players to slaughter them in masses. You've got big possible boss mobs like Dragons, and you've even got a mysterious mystical realm which the characters can enter. Hell even Dragon Age's group combat could translate well to MMO format.
I'd actually love to see a serious MMO which was more about actual roleplay and conversation rather than grinding mobs and killing bosses. I think the Dragon Age world could actually do that, aslong as we can avoid trying to make everyone a hero. I kinda wish the original idea of the Warhammer mmo didn't fall flat on it's face (I'm not talking about Age of reckoning)

The game has so much potentially with DLC campaigns... and if I had the choice, I'd choose DLC campaigns over MMO game format.

Not a chance, swtor is that game and they will focus on it. Dragon age Co-op multiplay is more probable, but if they want to elevate the co-op experience on par with DAO origins quality they will have to find a way where everyone is involved with dialogs

i used to be a hard core mmo player but i'd prefer a multiplayer campaign mode like a party of 4-5 players over an mmo version. Some things just need endings/open endings so some sequels/expansions can be made rather then defeating the same bosses over and waiting for new content like with mmo's.
I'd be looking funny if say Almighty Bandit Leader would get his head chopped off by me after i endured endless torture for 10 years straight just to find out he's there again in 5 minutes.
In some games it's justified, heck you never really kill anything in an mmo it seems you merely knock them out or they have some other way to come back (tempest keep was just a set back !), but some games are just intended for less then millions of players in 1 world, DA:O being one of them in my oppinion. A group of 4-5 players would make sense as that would be in the spirit of it being a party and it would be less hard to find 4-5 individuals that connect to each other then say 25.
just my 2 sovereigns

Heh. they kind of do that for every game they have made since KOTOR. You are always part of some line of warriors with special powers that smacks of Jedi. Not criticizing, but that is where they draw a lot of inspiration.
